Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, Starting the search for a 996 (1999 to 2001) and noticed there is a much better selection in Washinton State (closest large center). How difficult is it to bring one back into Canada on a permanent basis? With the currency spread getting a lot smaller, it seems it might be a good bet. Thanks in Advance Rob

POST 2Original post

Do a search in the Regions: Canada forum, you'll see tons of post on how relatively easy it is to import the car in. Well worth the $10-15K savings you might see.

POST 3Original post

Agree with Pongopaz - you can save quite a few dollars and the selection is much wider - opens up considerations beyond your closest state. Not sure how resale or trade-in would be impacted down the road. Check the "Registrar of Imported Vehicles" website ... www.riv.ca ... it's a real good place to start. Good luck with your search.

POST 4Original post

It is relatively easy, start with RIV - if you have problems, PM me - I can help you out.
