Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I purchased the the aux cable from Becker and had my Sirius unit professionally installed through the head unit. All went well, except I am hearing a high-pitched squeal when I accelerate (sounds like a whistle). Anyone have a similar experience? Is there a noise filter I can have them install that will fix this issue?

POST 2Original post

Sounds like a ground noise. Have the installer check the ground connection, you may have to relocate it.

POST 5Original post

Had same issue, fixed with ground loop isolator from Radio Shack.

POST 7Original post

which ground loop isolator did you use? I went there the other day and saw one that goes in between the rca's and one that goes between the power. As you using the aux in I assume it is the rca one? I have an amp I added and have that whine all the time on every source.

POST 8Original post

I added the RCA version. Not even a whimper since.

POST 9Original post

sounds cool I wonder if I add that before my amp if that will suffice. (I also sometimes use the aux plug I have)

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Okay guys...had the ground loop isolator installed. But now, Sirius sounds awful! It's nothing but pure treble. When I switch it to the Sirius FM transmitter, it sounds fine. Did the ground loop isolator cause this to happen? Did they screw up again?

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

One thing that I noticed is that when I switch to AUX and press the tone button, there is no option for stereo. Is this normal?
