Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, I'm the owner of a twin turbo Protomotive 964 C4. Power has been quoted in the 600 hp range but I have yet to dyno it. I recently replaced the clutch the previous owner had in the car with a 996 GT2 pressure plate with 996 GT3 clutch disc. Also replaced pilot bearing, throw out, resurface fly wheel, and so on. Full job. The clutch grabed perfectly for the first couple of weeks but now is slipping under boost. I'm not talking about full on presure, it'll slip under modest throttle on the highway. I'm very easy on the car and am not doing any abusive driving. QUESTIONS: 1. What should the power handling capablity be of my clutch set up be? 2. Is there an obvious soultion here? 3. What is the weak link in my set up? The disc or the pressrue plate? 4. What is the correct break in proceedure? Maybe I screwed somthing up? 5. If I glazed the disc would cleaning it up and breaking it in again fix things or am I just making too much power for this set up? Thanks All, Joe.

POST 2Original post

Slightly of your theme, but the weak link in your setup is probably connecting rods, and hope you don't bend any.
