Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Low 80's on Sat and Sun so:
1. Hand wash
2. Wax with Maguire's Tech wax 2.0
3. Full interior detail, leather conditioner and dash detail.
4. Install the aluma look ring gauges that have been in my garage for months.
5. Clean the throttle body
6. Head out to Bartlett Lake Road for a twisty 28 mile top down run.
How about you?
Have a Great Weekend everyone!
would like to join ya ... 30's and snow flurries .... I'll be hand washing, just to get the salt and crap off. Hardtop still on for another couple weeks. Lucky you !
Consider slipping in a clay bar effort between wash and wax if you feel surface contaminates after wash. Big benefits for little effort. I use Meg NXT 2.0 as well, nice choice! I am WAY jealous as this weekend is snowing and I love pampering washing/waxing.
I will be hunting to fix an annoying vibration in my center console and one in driver door by my elbow... still stuck in off-season jobs.
Enjoy the Ride!
Full detail for me as well.
Wash, clay and two step polish with Menzerna 4500 applied with my new Rupes polisher. Haven't decided on the wax yet. May go with the Swissvax or maybe Blackfire.
Tuck her away since next weekend is the Porshce showcase at the Amelia Island Concourse de Elegance. My little 996 will be among 30 other P-cars representing the brand in a special showcase on the lawn.
Going to do a 2 step polish on the Turbo, taking the 993 to the body shop for polishing. Getting both ready for the Amelia Island Festival of Speed Porsche Display.
Thinking maybe of hitting Sundays open lap day at High Plains Raceway???
We had a foot of snow
last
Sunday, now mid sixties staying that way through the weekend.
1. Might wash my truck
2. Surely wont wax though
3. Vac if I'm lucky
4. Take pics of my daughter at some Peach farm WAY out Chandler Heights
5. Attempt to look at a another 996 (the trans issue one)
6. Keep hunting 996's online
7. Re-eval my 'spending limit' for this
8. Visit my chiropractor / Masseuse
9. Price out cabinets and tile for my kitchen
10. Re-eval my weekend plans...
11. Realize this is the start of hot season and attempt to do all the out doorsy stuff really quick.
12. Probably hike Lost Dutchman Sunday.
Booooo
1. Adjust the coilovers to raise the car up a hair
2. Rebuild the front axles (torn CV boots) <-- kill me now, I hate doing CVs, such a mess
3. Replace tie rod ends (torn boots)
4. Wash it
Pulling the long-tube headers off of my '96 Corvette, replacing with the factory manifolds & cats and adding a catback chambered exhaust system. Vroom. I may replace the MAF in my 911, as well, and get rid of check-engine lights for both cars.
1) Condolences on 911 Crazy's loss
2) Thinking that the people Autocrossing and PCA Sunday event are having the most fun.
3) Drinking too much Tequila
4) Replacing my spark plugs and coils. 2 down. That 3rd upper side coil hex is a son of a biatch and is laughing at me, which only strengthens my resolve. He will get loose, he will.
5) Going to fire up my newly plugged and coiled 911 X51 and go, ohhh, 100 miles per hour, or so, above the speed limit. (Don't tell my mom).
6) Make that one call allowed by law to a neighbor to bail me out.
Aaaargh. The perils of living in Canada mean that its about 24 degrees and the Porsche hibernation continues. I am gagging to get out there and hand wash, clay (first time ever), polish and wax my 4-week old C4.
So, instead, I'll Rennlist for an hour then run down to the weekly P-car lunch and hang out with the guys.
Nothing really Pcar related. Doing a little side work in front of the computer right now that will hopefully turn into a new and profitable business venture. Then going to drop the kid off with the grandparents for the night and fiance and I are going for a night on the town with another couple. May take the family to the mountains tomorrow in the Pcar which is usually enjoyable.
Recuperating from oral surgery here... If I am lucky tomorrow I'll be able to spend some time reassembling my recently re-chromed window frames for my 356C.
Went for a lovely spirited ride along with a friend out to harrison hotsprings...via the back route. Nice twisties...nice day...not a lot of traffic...and the pcars were running nicely.
70 degrees here ... Oil Change, Add Coolant. Frunk Struts, Check Brake Pad Wear, Tire Pressures, Wash ....ready for first Cars & Caffeine meeting at Club Autosport in San Jose next weekend
Tie rod ends are really easy: take the wheels off, loosen the 18mm bolt holding the rod end into the hub, tap it out with a hammer, loosen the 19mm backing nut, then just unthread the tie rod. Reinstallation is the reverse. You will need an alignment after doing this, though.
As for the rebuilding the front axles, once I had them out of the car I decided to do something I've been thinking about doing for a long time: to turn my car into a proper 911...
Guess I'll need to remove the "4" from the back of the car.
