Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

dc auto *used* to be pretty good about listing used parts as such.
Leading evidence: 'Use *' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run about 30kmls' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I did search for that piece number on ebay, and there is one, used, from dismantler in LA area, for $150. Another one for 740 obo. Try nrauto as well.
I'd try to get a used one and install yourself.
I'll save you some searching since I was just looking for this part. You can find it for $550 new from a few online sources:

Or you can go used with ebay. I just ordered one from ebay last Friday. The same seller had other pumps for sale so I'll let you know how it turns out and if the part is good. 30 day refund policy so I feel reasonable safe.

You can get the same part as an Audi or VW part for much less. The same secondary air pump is used on just about every car in the VW stable (from Bugatti to Polo), and Porsche as well.
Yes, to warm them up quicker when cold, and save up to 3 minutes of horrific baby-seal-killing, global-warming-causing evil from the tail pipes
Porsches will meet emissions without any emissions equipment at all. It's just the CELs you have to trick.
I'm interested though in fitting or modifying a vw part that Orient alluded to. Spill the beans!
I second the call Sunset - ask for Excellence Pricing = Cost + 15% and quick turn around to seattle. Have it shipped direct to Chris Powell's shop and you'll be good to go. No WA sales tax is a 9% discount.
Anyone know how to prevent the CE error code for SAI once the pump is removed? Is there some kind of loop for the electrical connector? Plug the hoses?
Thanks.
You could flash the DME with ROW since ROW cars do not have SAI.
But then it won't pass smog if you drive the car on the road. Not a problem with a dedicated track car of course...
So a reflash could disablee the CE light / error code. Car is 70/30 track/street; guess I can live with the light for a while . . .
I was hoping there was simple temporary electrical loop fix.
