Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Does anyone no if there are any recent post for converting a 996 3.4 to a 3.6?
I recently purchased a 99 996 with a blown engine. I have a good 3.6 and would like to convert my 3.4 to a 3.6. Now, I know there are a few options out there.
1. use the 3.4 heads on the 3.6
2. rewire the whole car to use the later e-gas and 7.8 DME
3. Which I have read is nothing but bad; Roock software conversion for the V-cam plus.
I believe option one is probably the easiest, but will it make the same kind of power as option two?
Keep this in mind also; I have a complete 3.6 wiring harness also a gauge cluster from an 02 Turbo Tip.(not sure if this will work) and I am not a novice at wiring and electronics, so rewiring the complete car may be a pain in the ..., but with your help and experience, I should be able to do it.
This car is not a daily driver ether; mainly more for play.
Any recent findings, would be a great help.
We are working on it.. His engine is unknown condition wise and it'll be getting shipped to me soon. Then we can start working out details and making sure it is what it was described to him to be.
Should work out well for everyone.
I learned all about "kits" with AirCooled Porsche engines. Never again, especially in a world where everyone expects things to assemble themselves and work perfectly. Thank electronics for that mindset. The days of the mechanical savvy person are basically gone.
Oh well, thanks for crashing my stroker dreams. Maybe one day you can market a "real" power kit for the 3.6. Im sure you keep your 3.6 mods for your own engines but it would be nice if you shared the knowledge of the max safe HP you can extract from them and the best way to do so.
