I daily drove them and they were plenty comfy (but I am a skinny little guy, so you have to check the fit) My shoulders fit within the seats but some people complained they limited arm motion as the shoulders were forced inward (towards the chest)

The nice thing about some shell seats (Recaros, GT3s, etc.) is that there is velcro behind the the cushions - so you can change cushions or add more padding behind them to get the right support.

I'm just debating if I want a seat that I use solely for DE are all the time.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Back in Jan I was debating on getting the ROW M030 or the X74 (I have the US stock suspension). I have had several opinions from fellow RL's and appreciate every one of them. The X74 won out so I ordered it from Carnewal. The dollar / euro exchange rate was not bad and I had it within 3 days from Belgium. Yesterday the time finally came to do the install. There have been several other posts showing pics of before, during and after of the X74. I don't want to bore anybody with the same. The picture (BB style) I do show is during the alignment after driving for a few miles. I had no idea how advanced alignment machines have gotten. Ray on the board had sent me the X74 spec. The machine actually had the spec already in its data base. Cool stuff.
All I have to say is WOW with just the small amount of driving I have done. It is night over day amazing. The ride is not harsh or too stiff. The car just feels real solid...almost stealthy (if that's a word?). The parts that came off the car looked awful tired. One rear strut actually was leaking fluid.
Now my car is C4. I can tell you that in order to get the existing front struts out we had to loosen up the cradle for the front drive train to get the extra inches we needed to swing the struts out. Otherwise the front axle was in the way. It was not that bad though, just removing bolts, supporting everything upfront with a jack and putting them back in where they belong. The rear was a breeze. Looks like the car is lower by 1 1/2" - 1 3/4". The front lip on underneath the bumper may turn to toast though. One big tip is to do this with the use of a lift.
All in all this is a great upgrade am looking forward to doing DE's this year more than usual.
Congrats on the X74 package. No doubt your Porsche feels like a different car with the more aggressive components. Let us know after some more DEs how the handling has changed.
Surely will let you know...the before and after is really something....didn't realize the ride height was so high. Maybe that's why I kept getting nose bleeds.
You are going to enjoy more on the track, a great deal of less roll when taking the corners, the only problem is in bracing yourself so that you don't come out of your seat.
I have always wanted to get the GT3 seats. Would be great to find them in Metro Blue but I seem to only see black out there. Anyways the seats will have to wait for a bit. I plan on duct taping myself to the seat in the mean time
told ya!
if you had gone ROW you would be still be happy today, but not in 6 months (IMO)
More IS better isnt it!!
congrats, and +1 for GT3 seats... I really really miss them!!
to be honest, the GT3 seats are OK.. they lacked a little lower back support and i found others that agrred. That said, the planted in the seat feel was great. NO side to side movement and really... my corner speeds increased just with the seats.
I daily drove them and they were plenty comfy (but I am a skinny little guy, so you have to check the fit) My shoulders fit within the seats but some people complained they limited arm motion as the shoulders were forced inward (towards the chest)
just ask some one at the track to sit in a set... I think the sprts seats would be OK, but for the same money and effort you might do better
(btw Maxspeed GT3 CF reps are what I had - new they are pretty cheap, a little soft in the ars on hot days)
The best advice I can give about seats is to try before you buy. People come in such a variety of sizes. The nice thing about some shell seats (Recaros, GT3s, etc.) is that there is velcro behind the the cushions - so you can change cushions or add more padding behind them to get the right support.
Another thing to remember is that cloth seats offer more "grip" on your bottom!
Oh, and get ready to open your wallet... After a good seat, you'll find yourself buying a harness bar, harnesses, and maybe a 2nd seat for your passengers/instructor!
tell us in 6 months how you like it after driving around public roads...
by the way... GT3 seat is a must to explore the limits of that suspension... go for it! I ordered driver's only GT3 Seat because I have red leather interior... got it from Suncoast...
Pete-
Definitely not like driving my Dad's Buick....that said the ride really is not that bad. I live in the country and the roads are a joy to drive. I have not done alot of highway miles yet. But my gut (or butt) tells me it will be fine.
I have to agree with you. Now I need to get the alignment sorted out. Had the alignment done the same day after putting a few miles on but now it is pulling to the right. Its only money right?
You should be able to get the alignment guy to fix it at no cost. Before having him look at it, try driving on the wrong side of the road (when very very safe) and see if it pulls to the opposite side. Might just be road crown?
