Maybe it's the angle of the picture that changes the perception of the ceiling height.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

35 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

Sure you can dial all sorts of negative camber in to make something with a more aggressive offset "fit" but it is STILL not the proper size.

No unique explicit quoted action; no causal link assigned

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just finished installing the GT3 wheels on the CAB. Here are the before (this morning) and after (this afternoon) pics. Enjoy!

POST 3Original post

That red looks fine.... I love the lift !!! Now all you need is the GT3 areo

POST 4Original post

What an improvement over OEM wheels. They change the character of the cab, well done.

POST 6Original post

With a lift like that can it assist you with changing out wheels?

Thanks! It's Arena Red. Hard to see in the pics but it already does have the GT3 aero front and sides, just no rear wing. I prefer the motorized on on the cab. It's the Direct Lift Pro Park. I bought it through Greg Smith Equipment. Absolutely. I also purchased 2 sliding jacks with the lift. Allows me to get the car OFF the lift completely and then do brake/suspension/wheel/etc work.

POST 8Original post

Congrats Dell! They are the most goog-looking OEM 996 rims for me! good stuff!

POST 9Original post

Arena red FTW! Best color ever. I like the 5 spokers better

POST 10Original post

Quotes source post: 7425767

wrong on both accounts

POST 11Original post

Dell, thanks for the pics! Love the GT3 wheels on your.... er, excuse me..... your wife's cab! Has she seen the new wheels on it yet? I'll bet she takes one look and says something like.................... "I like them! Sell the 5-spokes!"

POST 12Original post

Dell...just heard about a recall on your lift. Just send it to my address and I'll be sure it gets the proper upgrades.

POST 13Original post

That looks fantastic! Other than the sport designs (a bit biased) those are the wheels for a 996

POST 14Original post

If you are going to sell the five spokes, let me know! Where did you get the GT3 wheels? They do look awesome!

I love them both equally My all time favorite are the sport designs. We actually ordered the car with them but several years ago (7 or 8?) my wife had an "incident" and destroyed 2 of them so they became the track wheels and we got a set of the 02 lightweights. Bought them from another Rennlister. Are you doing the drive Saturday with us to Pinehurst? We can talk then. It would be awesome if they went on the Shiffstermobile

POST 17Original post

Nice - the car looks so much sharper with the new wheels.

POST 18Original post

Can you do us a broadside shot? I'm interested to see how they fill out the fenders. Also, can you post the sizes including offsets? Thanks

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sure thing. It will be VERY telling as well. Too many people get on this board talking all sorts of crap about how certain wheels "fit" the narrow body car. I can tell you that "fit" is subjective to most of these people that want to stuff the wrong offset wheel/tire combo under the wheel well. The GT3 wheel sizes are 8.5 et40 in front an 11 et 63 in rear. That would be like adding a 15mm spacer to your 10"et65 wheels (making it an et50) in the rear and 16mm spacer on the front of a 8"et50 wheel. Anything more agressive that et50 on a 10" wheel or et63 on a 11" wheel and you will be in a situation where tire rubbing on compression becomes a real issue. Sure you can dial all sorts of negative camber in to make something with a more aggressive offset "fit" but it is STILL not the proper size. Sorry for the soapbox rant but I see improper offsets all the time with guys claiming they fit and then they offer them for sale and then I get PM's shortly after install asking why they don't fit! Here are a few shots of the GT3 wheels on a narrow body C2.

POST 20Original post

Second pic: I see which car your sandels are facing...you're really not 'that' interested in your wife's new wheels.

POST 21Original post

"Perfect" fit, performance & look were my main reasons to go with OEM GT3 wheels instead of other aftermarket sets and I am very happy with my decision. Before purchase, I even asked Dell for his feedbacks to make more sure

Yeah, sandals don't lie. My neighbor's got the same lift, he keeps his '68 Vette up and parks his Chevy SSR underneath. I think we all dream of a 5-car garage, ha.

POST 27Original post

His' and her's 996s. Wow, what a tough life!!! :-) ///Michael

POST 28Original post

what suspension is on that turbo... looks proper!

POST 29Original post

I think Kyle (the Hoff) is lookng for those sandals (thongs, flip flops)

POST 30Original post

yup - good fit all right. So, I assume 295/30 in the rear but what about teh front? And while you're at it....can you post the weights? Thanks Dell. I know you love this data stuff.

POST 31Original post

Dell, GT3 Wheels make the car faster. Looks great. How high is the ceiling in your garage? I need another lift in a low ceiling area and it looks like your ceiling is 8.5?

POST 32 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source posts: 7430681, 7430852, 7430867

X73 I don't have the weights offhand but have posted them in the past in the GT3 forum. And yes, I love the data Is that my old car in your avatar? My ceiling is 12 foot. I can actually take the lift to the LAST lock ladder when the cab or boxster is on the lift and the second to last one with the turbo. Maybe it's the angle of the picture that changes the perception of the ceiling height. THe 4 posts are over 7 feet each themselves!

POST 33Original post

Quotes source post: 7430852

When i weighted mine the rears with OEM tire (295/30/18) was 52 lbs and the front was ~43.5lb, if I remember right...

POST 34Original post

Dell, The Cab's paint is looking fantastic after that last detailing you had done! ... oh and the new rims look great also.
