Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys, maybe you can help. I hit the eject button on the cd changer and the magazine does not pop out. I checked the fuses and all is ok. Any idea what it could be?

POST 2Original post

What year? "Magazine" leads one to believe 6 disk in trunk. My 03 trunk mounted 6 disk changer did that a couple of times. I got it out using a 12" thin metal ruler "Machinist scale". Run it down between the bottom of the magazine and the frame of the unit. You will feel (maybe even see if you get your face in there) the pin that holds the mag in the unit it, is roughly in the center. Push down and\or slide the pin side to side while relieving pressure on the mag. It should loosen up and come out. I was also able to do this with no power on a unit out of the car.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2001 996 with the cd changer in the trunk. i will try the metal ruler trick. thanks for the suggestion

POST 4Original post

There should be a small hole where you can push a pin into to trip the lockout lever arm.
