Suggestion

First, if you are still running a US stock suspension just with GT3 sway bars, you need a stiffer suspension long before you are going to make use out of a lot of camber.

I have GT3 sways and adjustable droplinks and NT01's for tires and use Pagid orange for brake pads.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What would be the best way to spend 1k on my suspension. This is for the track. I've been driving in PCA DE's and NASA for 5 years. I'm going to drive in NASA TT this year so points are important. KW V3/JRZ's are $2,500+ and anything with a remote res. costs a lot of points in NASA TT. Going with non- remote res. (PSS10's) still cost 2k and I don't think would add a lot for the track. I have GT3 sways and adjustable droplinks and NT01's for tires and use Pagid orange for brake pads. I need more negative camber so I thought getting GT3 control arms would be the way to go. With shims and a good alignment this should cost under 1k. What do you thinks and do you have any other suggestions. Thanks a lot.

POST 2Original post

Lowering the c/g will help. I'd look for a shorter spring with slightly stiffer rate. If you have a coupe, cab springs might work. I'd research it a bit more. You don't want to go too stiff where your shocks won't have enough dampening to control the suspension.

POST 3Original post

First, if you are still running a US stock suspension just with GT3 sway bars, you need a stiffer suspension long before you are going to make use out of a lot of camber. For you budget, you are around the price of a ROW M030 suspension. Buy the complete kit and sell the M030 sway bars. This will get you something a lot better for a limited budget. Once you stiffen it up, see how your tires are wearing and decide later if you need camber plates or GT3 control arms.

POST 4Original post

I vote no on ROW Get some lowering springs ($300-600) and GT3 sway bars (if you can find a set for $500 used) Tires

POST 5Original post

There is a marked improvement over stock with PSS9/10. Seconds per lap at least. But if you can't spend the money now, you should continue to save your pennies and get the suspension done next. Getting lower control arms or camber plates will help, but not much. IMO, you should not go the ROW route, as you will (most likely) just upgrade later and that money will be a huge waste. Ask me how I know... You can also put on muffler bypass pipes to take 70lbs out of the rear of the car. Also, putting in racing seats (if you don't have them yet) and a harness bar/ roll bar will take another 50-100 lbs out of the car. [You will want full safetey gear eventually - HANS, suit, fire extinguisher, etc.] Putting your car on a diet is cheap. -td
