No, my engine didn't blow up! Worse... I pulled the car out of the garage to take the wife and kids on a drive. I get the two booster car seats out of my wife's car (my kids are 5 and 7). I tell the kids to climb in. Fine. Then, my 5 year old son says "my feet are stuck, I can't move them, this is uncomfortable, waaaaa"! Growth spurt? With the way I drive, with the driver's seat almost all the way back, there really is no space to stick your feet if they reach down there. My wife is shorter, so my older daughter will fit behind her seat. I said we can't take the Porsche, and removed the seats in disgust. My wife gave me a look different from all her other anti-Porsche, this car is impractical kind of looks. It was more "you know this makes no sense anymore". And I kind of agree. I went over all the possibilities. Maybe I can raise the driver's seat up a few inches, to make more toe room? Maybe when my daughter doesn't need the booster she can sit behind me, giving more room to my son in his booster behind my wife? I really can't justify keeping a car that my kids can't fit in! Maybe cut holes in the floor and have the kids help braking, ala the Flintstones? I REALLY don't want to sell the car at a huge loss, only to buy a BMW or something. What do do!?
Uh-oh! I had a "maybe I have to sell the 996" moment (the kids don't fit)!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Racing buckets!
Life is SHORT, the car makes you happy. Justify it!
honda oddysey... youve only owned it less than 3yrs, no? i would move up the seat a tad to give them slight wiggle room if poss. im 6'00" and i think my kids both fit in the back the few times i took them out.
how tall are you ? seat all the way back - maybe more time at the track will help get you "closer to the action" and move that seat forward - problem solved uncomfortable... whiney kids !! LOL J/K about that part, my 10 and 11 y/o boys sometimes say the same thing.... I just offer them the following "Oh, life is SO bad to have to ride around in a beautiful Porsche.... WAAAAA" then I remind them that Lotus and Corvette (their favorite cars) dont even have reasr seats and to be thankful I am not dumb enough to have one of those - then I laugh and they seem to forget about the feet they can no longer feel

I'm 6 feet, but I have long legs. The seat isn't ALL the way back, but it's back far enough to have about 4 inches of space between the front of the back seat and the bottom of the driver's seat. If I move the seat forward, it's hard to shift. I also have the steering wheel pulled all the way rearward. I'll have to try raising the seat up to see if that gives me just enough clearance for my son't feet. Racing buckets, there's a good excuse to get new leather racing seats!
I have similar issues. Cab was ruled out to maximze room, got a toddler and 5 year old. The 5 year old actually fits ok with a Britax booster. Car seat for toddler not so much. Got the same "feet stuck" response. You might try removing the rear seatback to see if that helps. I put the bigger seat behind the passenger, just suck it up and move driver seat way up. Not easy and wouldn't want to drive that way for long stints but better than not having the 911! On the plus side both kids actually prefer the Porsche to my wife's Passat wagon or my much bigger Mazda CX-9.

My 3.5 year daughter loves ridding the the back seat of the 996, she leans over and sleeps over the center tunnel. On a recent road trip she slept over 3 hours in the car (A new record). I am guessing I have about 3 years left before she whines about having a bigger car. Thank God there is the new Panamera now.
In 11 more years your youngest will be able to drive, so you just need to wait awhile longer.

I should have mentioned money IS an issue!
The seats have memory for 3 positions, right? 1=Normal, 2=Wife, 3=Kids

Yeah, I'm thinking I can come up with a setting that raises my seat, gives the kids more toe room. Maybe I can push the seat forward a few inches, then recline the back to compensate. Save to #3, done! I'll head home tonight with that in mind. Hopefully, raising the seat provides just enough more room!
Do kids really need a booster seat at that age? I'm absolutely clueless about it but I don't remember using one at that age. Regardless, if you have a wife and two kids, here's how it works. You and the kids? Older one up front, younger behind her. Whole family? Take another car. Either that or cut your calcium intake to nothing and let bone loss take care of those long legs.

Ha! Funny. Not sure on the law, but my daughter, tall as she is, needs a booster because when she sits in the seat without one, the seatbelt cuts across her neck, and doesn't get tight enough around her waist due to the silly way the buckle receiver sticks out. As for putting my daughter in the front, I don't think you can disable the passenger airbag, right? And I think it's safer in the back anyway.
Quit spoiling your kids with all these safety features. When I was a kid I rode around in my mom's Dodge Omni and I liked it! Also, may be worth talking to a dealership and seeing if you can disable the passenger airbag, I bet there's a way to set that up.
trade em in?
