Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Check ...)' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check ...)' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've had my offer accepted on a late model 996 (yippee, back in the club!) and the only hurdles that remain are getting a PPI done, getting the car to Oklahoma (tempted to fly into Baltimore and drive back), and figuring out how I get the title. (it has a lien against it by a national company so we can't go down to a local bank with a check...)
After searching all of Rennlist, not just this forum, I found a few recommendations for a shop called GT Performance, here's their website:
http://gtperformanceinc.com/
Does anyone have any personal experience with them? Does anyone have any other recommendations?
TIA, Pictures will be posted pending this PPI...
Good for you. Unfortunately, I can't help with the PPI info on GT Performance. Another option could be to contact a Baltimore area Porsche dealer. Here are two dealers norht of Balt.
Len Stoler Porsche
Valley Motors Porsche
Search is your friend.

Thanks for the info but I said in my original post that I searched and I've already read all 4 of those threads. They were suggested by 965 and 993 owners so that's why I posted the question here on the 996 forum.
The car is currently serviced at Len Stoler. I'll probably take it to GTPerformance unless someone's got better info for me.
Thanks guys.
Myself and many local PCA guys have our cars serviced at GT Performance. Great bunch of Ruskis. Ask for the owner, Gennady, and tell him I sent you.
Tim
GT Performance it is! I spoke with Gennady yesterday and he seemed very knowledgeable, I just wanted to get a little more feedback before I scheduled it. Thanks guys!
PPI came back, everything worked on the car, interior very clean, outside no dings a few minor scratches, more road rash on the front than expected for the mileage. Tires near new, services up to date.
Here's the negative and I'm serious this is not intended to start one of these fun threads that we have around here... The RMS is seeping and the car is out of warranty. Mechanic said it would be approx $1k to get in there and see if it can accept a new seal or if the motor needs replacing. He also said it's barely seeping so it doesn't even "need" digging into yet. What do you guys think? Is the car a pass? I respect the advice of this forum and I'm looking for a few honest opinions.
TIA!!!
It's a 2004 C2 6 speed, nice colors, above average options, <20,000 miles, market accurate price, in nice shape with the exception of the rms dampness.
I say based on the PPI offer "market accurate price" - $1500 (to fix the RMS). after that you could get an aftermarket warranty to be safe..
Good luck!
