Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just purchased my first Porsche in January. It's a late '99 996 c2 cab. I bought the car from Jack Daniel's motors in Fair Lawn, NJ; however, I'm not happy with their service department and have not heard good things about the service department at Prestige Porsche in Nanuet, NY either. I have a Porsche certified warranty for two years; therefore, I would like to stick with a dealer. Nevertheless, I'm open to private mechanics as well.
Second you on not liking the J.D. service department, they tried every little trick to nickel and dime me on the 30k mile service. They never ordered a little resistor that was due etc. etc.
I would stay away from Prestige Porsche in Nanuet, NY.
They did a PPI on a car I had agreed to buy at a certain price and drilled into the head of the owner that he was giving away the car at the agree to price.
The owner then backed away from the deal.
In my opinion, this is a lousy way to do business.

Call Ron at Forest hill Exxon in Bloomfield NJ. 9734299687. He is a great guy, honest and he is a Porsce nut. He has a monster 996 tt that is unbelievable and he is always working on other Porsches. He really knows his stuff.

try power tech in Rockaway pwr-tech.com, they do a lot of cars for NNJR PCA region. I've never had any issues in the 2 years of using them.
Also checkout NNJR-PCA.com for a full list of mechanics in your area.
As I mentioned in Doug's post, go to Pepe Porsche in White Plains. They are fantastic and I take my car there even though it's out of my way.
Prestige Porsche should be hit with a scud missle.
I take all my cars to CIM motorsports in Central Valley ,NY. The owner, Rick is a Porsche expert mechanic and race car driver. He has a clean shop, offers great service and reasonable prices. I take my BMW and both Porsches I've owned to him. Way better than any dealer I have used and that includes BMW. His number is [phone removed]
Town Motors in Englewood, NJ. Have not had any problems with them yet and seems very close to where you are looking. They just opened an expanded Porsche showroom too.
Thank you all for the information. FYI the cost of an oil change between Porsche dealers varies: Pepe Porsche - $275; Prestige Porsche - $240; and Jack Daniel's Porsche - $220. I guess you get what you pay for...
