Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I will also be replacing my springs with H&R's which will drop the car to about 1.25" front and rear.

Thanks Carlos...do I have to have the exact offset of the original wheels if I run the 19 x 11 setup in the rear?

To correct that you would have to run a 245 tire in the front.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Everyone...I just recently purchased an 02 narrow body carrera and would like to get 18 or 19 inch wheels. My questions are:
1. With 19 x 11's in the rear, how big a tire size can I go without rubbing or having to "roll my fenders"? I love the look of the Work RXX or the new Kinesis F110(wheel enhacenment). I will also be replacing my springs with H&R's which will drop the car to about 1.25" front and rear.
2. Would it be wiser to go with 18's? Can I do an 18 x 11 in the rear without rubbing? The widest tires?
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.
Miko
p.s. Could anyone post pics if they have this set up with a NB 996?
I would stick with 18's if you plan on tracking the car. 19's look awesome on a lowered car but the ride is extremely rough. Another downside with 19's is limited tire selection. I run a 18x10 and a 285 michellin's. I have h&r springs and the fenders had to be rolled a bit. I don't think you will be able to get 11s' in without trimming the fenders. Also, the wider you go in the rear, the more understeer the car will have. To correct that you would have to run a 245 tire in the front.
the ride on 19s are not EXTREMELY rough just a little rougher. actually i think it really depends on tires. my 19s with bridgestone so3s ride a lot smoother than when i had conti sc2s on my 18s. go figure. the contis are such crap, harsh ride, noisy and don't grip.
don't worry about the added weight with 19s. you aren't gonna track your car and really, most people wouldn't even notice the difference in weight. if it's a street bling machine then 19s. or do what i do, set of 18s for the track, set of 19s for the street.
Thanks Carlos...do I have to have the exact offset of the original wheels if I run the 19 x 11 setup in the rear? What about the front? Any potential rubbing problems?
