Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is it absolutely necessary to do an alignment when you install H&R springs? Would you trust the job to a well respected after market shop. There's a well thought of shop here in Nashville called Music City P&A, and we all know what the P stands for. TireRack recognizes them as a wheel & tire installer, for whatever that's worth. Opinions, please.

POST 2Original post

You'll need the alignment.... period. Once everything is out it is necessary to do it again.... No matter how good anyone is, it is necessary to do it again...... But then again if you're the type that likes little surprises then "knock yourself out".... -Eli

POST 3Original post

Yes a 4 wheel alignment is mandatory. The shop needs to be intimately familiar with setting up 993-996 Kinematic toe. Check with your local PCA for a good Porsche shop.

POST 4Original post

These posts on alignments scare me. I recently had a altercation with a 15" curb at speed and broke my lower control arm among other parts. With the other repairs, I'm having my PSS9's installed and ride height set. The body shop has a good reputation with exotic cars and came reconmended by a local Porsche shop. The body shop will be doing the alignment themselves. How worried should I be? More on topic, how long should i wait to do the second alignment? ...especial given it's being done by a body shop? The good news is the suspension guy knew exactly what I was talking about when I told him X74 specs.

POST 5Original post

Think I saw this post on 6-spd.... Nice photos... But some shops have the full-set up now since they pretty much dish out the work if they don't have the machine... Might as well find out if their work is good before it leaves..... If they have the reputation you speak of then let them finish it up.... -Eli
