Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I'm helping my pop out with a 996 question. "I am changing the spark plugs and coils (the old ones are all cracked) on my car and the vendor sent me the coils for the 997. All the numbers are the same with the exception of the 996/997 designation on the coils." His - 996.602.102.00 The one they sent - 997.602.102.00 Can he use the 997 coils on his 996? His car - 2003 C4S

POST 7Original post

Yes. Further, Porsche will frequently "change" part numbers when the newer parts are backward compatible, have been better engineered, etc. Also remember the 997.1 3.6L engine is largely the same one in his 2003 996.2.
