Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, Just got my porsche 911 carrera 2. Car has large aftermarket airflow system. Check the picture, the left side of the intake is missing the part which leads the air to intake. Is there a reason its missing? Or is it that the service has forgot to put the part back to its place. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...072011849.jpg/

POST 3Original post

Looks like somebody forgot to put that piece back.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I would really appericiate if someone would kindly check the part number in that piece missing.

POST 5Original post

The same intake is on my car and the snorkel is attached to the air box. I don't see a part number.

POST 6Original post

i have a K&N intake system installed and my cone curves back to the left and into the "chamber" where the outside air is funneled. The way that yours stayes to the right would lead me to believe that your system is complete as is. Is there anyway you can tell who the manufacturer of your system is? If so you can look them up to compare components online.

Bingo...JRMaroon and i posted at the same time. The missing piece on your system looks just like the part from my K&N system. The piece is actually apart of your stock air box.

POST 8Original post

does not seem to be a part number for just that one piece: http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...-05/106-00.php you can always try dc automotive and get one used: http://dcauto.gotdns.com/illustration/index/472032392 hope this helps

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have no idea what the manufacturer is . I imported this car from US to europe so I'm not familiar with it yet. Thanks for replys! It seems the OEM Air supply duct could fit.

POST 10Original post

But it wont do anything with the after-market filter, because thats sucking the air from around it. THE HOT AIR. Id put it back standard personally. But it would get a bit cooler air from outside with the missing part.

POST 11Original post

I think this is the first generation Evom CAI. With a cone filter it sounds fantastic when you wind it up!!!!! Pete

POST 12Original post

oops! just looked at your first photo and like JRMaroon says, you are definately missing the snorkel!! Pete

POST 13Original post

If that were mine I would replace the stock airbox. The one you have is pulling HOT ait from above the right muffler and engine compartment. If you want the louder intake noise do the "orange cap" mod. This is just blocking the heimholtz resonator (muffler) in the air box. Search for orange cap mod. http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic...hl__orange+cap https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...e-cap-mod.html

POST 14Original post

I have a stock air box from a 2000 if you are interested. $75 plus shipping but it might be expensive to ship to Finland.
