Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I posted a pdf over at: Power Outlets Basically, I added a strip, with 3 outlets and a USB power source to handle my addiction to gadgets (phones, ipods, GPS devices, and who knows what the future will bring). Only thing I wasn't satisfied about was soldering into the original line. I was hoping to get the clips out of the adapter and add the lines there, but couldn't figure out how to unseat them from the adapter. If I ever figure that out, I may redo the connections.

POST 2Original post

What do you do about the mess of wires directly over the gearshift though? I think I would have preferred a port over in the passenger side of the center console. Not quite as slick but out of the way when trying to drive.

POST 3Original post

I understand the need for this for sure. Did you consider setting up out of site in your center console?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I really don't use the cubby for much. I still can use 1/2 of it (the front portion and side portion). As far as wires go, I've got a tip so they don't get in my way. I use the paddle shifters primarily after I set it in "M". I considered other places (passenger side and in the ashtray delete - there's power there provided to the old light that illuminated the ashtray). May still be an option as the only permanent change is the small hole behind the rubber piece in the back of the cubby. Not noticeable at all once it's removed.
