Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 2Original post

BE AU TI FU L !! love Mexico Blue! and the "S"

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks - can't wait to feel the difference. while I'm not too keen on the aero kit (a $7K option), I do love mexico blue!!

POST 4Original post

Wow! major congrats. Why hold back with the aero kit if you chose that color? What made you choose a C2S over a GT3 finally? You never got a ride in a GT3?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 8096547

couldn't find the "right" GT3 - either total track set up (does not apply); or wrong color; decision between 996 and 997, etc. I just love the mexico blue, so that was a good selling point, as well as this example being like "new"; "S" was extra bonus/happy to have 3.8L; so, I'll deal with the aero kit and side graphics. plus it was a decent deal IMO

POST 7Original post

I love that car.... everything about it. Enjoy in good health!

POST 8Original post

Beautiful car!! I am growing on the 997 Targa 4S for some reason...

POST 9Original post

The color just looks right, great looking package. Did you trade your old Porsche?

POST 10Original post

Wow, very nice.... The S is the way to go on the 997 line, congrats.

POST 11Original post

Looks great - love the aero package and it's basically a new car! Congrats!

POST 14Original post

Congratulations! I drove the car and it is a beauty. You will get lots of attention wherever you go! Enjoy.

POST 15Original post

WOW: great looking, enjoy the miles and smiles!

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 8096707

still have the 996....not sure I can part with it, I LOVE the headlights way more than the 997s!

POST 18Original post

I love my dad's SY C2S...it doesn't have the aerokit or graphics but I like the aero on that car. The 997 C2S is a blast...you really sit low in the cockpit and it has a very good "back to roots" Porsche feeling to it.

POST 19Original post

Beautiful car! Congratulations on an excellent choice! I love the color and the options list. Funny. Over on the 997 Forum they have been arguing the merits of the future resale of this car because of its color. Over here, we are all loving the car and your choice to get it. It is awesome. And if you tire of it some day, someone here on the 996 Forum is going to ****** it up from you while the 997 guys continue to argue the merits of it marketability. LOL!

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 8097327

I think they have a point, but to me, you see so few of these, they really stand out and I love the color. the last thing I'm thinking about is the resale ability. I mean color choice is so personal, you can't blame anyone for geting what they want - getting rid of it is a different story, but again, I'm not worried.

POST 25Original post

Great looking car! That's the one I saw in Chicago, right? It's absolutely stunning!

POST 26 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 8098514

that's it! IMO it was a steal - gotta love going into winter in the mid-west, coupled with a recession that won't quit

POST 27Original post

You just picked up a new car for a fraction of the cost. Fantastic color. I think the Aero looks great. Enjoy.

POST 28Original post

Quotes source post: 8099390

That's why I've been spending so much time at the Lambo/Lotus dealer next door. Just waiting for the right deal...

POST 29Original post

Congratulations! Love the color/graphics/aerokit. Someone took a huge depreciation hit for you! Now go out and drive it.

POST 30Original post

In a week or two will you post a compare/contrast on the 996/997? Interested in what you think after beeing in the 996 so long.

POST 31Original post

Love the color and the graphics. It is totally different and who cares what other people say. You like it - Thats what matters. Post some pics when you can!

Quotes source post: 8104604

the funny thing is, it seems everyone here on Rennlist (the P-car community) love it - as do I my good friend hated it, but he hates the fact that his AMG can't caryy my jockstrp either. sure he can do a burnout doughnut in the middle of the street, so that says enough right there....he's more nascar than me!!! can't wait to compare with the 996. although I know I'm going to like the 3.8L

POST 33Original post

Quotes source post: 8104657

You will love the 3.8L. I used to own a 997.1 (Carrara White). Had bunch of mods done by Sharkwerks after I purchased. Then sold it a few years later. I really miss my 997. Someday I will get another one and do what you did by keeping the 996.

POST 34 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 8104770

what all did you have sharkwerks do for you? are they expensive? was it worth it?

POST 35Original post

Well worth it. I got Air Intake by EVOMS, Lowered Suspension, Flashed, EVOMS headers, updated pedals. They are well known for tuning newer porsches. You should visit them. Go to 6speedonline and read some of their articles. Alex and James are great to work with.

POST 36Original post

I saw that you were in between a gt3 and S model. what would be your opinion between the two cars, I suppose you drove both ? I just love the idea of being able to go on the track without worries and still be able to drive to work with the same car. BTW, do you know if the gt3 is more expensive to maintain, considering it got more expensive/high reliability parts ? phil

POST 37 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 8107238

GT3 all the way, it's just so much more exclusive also. Total driver's car. Problem with me is lack of patience, I moved to the C2S becasue of the color/options combo in what I found - the GT3 just never matierialized. Everything I hear about the GT3 is that it's near bullet-proof. the purists/enthusiasts love them.

POST 38Original post

Quotes source post: 8097301

You're a lucky guy but how do you decide what to drive. It's funny to hear you say that about the headlights, because that is my only gripe about the 996, I don't care much for the headlights.

POST 39Original post

+1 our headlights suck. If they didn't Porsche wouldn't have gone back to round. You don't see 997 driver's converting their headlights to a 996 look.

POST 40Original post

Quotes source post: 8110193

Form, not function.

POST 41Original post

Amazingly interesting!! I love the 996 headlights! (specially the left one). The shape is very close to some Ferrari and other gorgeous exoctic models. You must be quite a happy puppy for a pissedpuppy.

POST 42Original post

Quotes source post: 8110709

+1 I've never had a problem with the shape of the 996 headlights either. When I look at them, I see round headlights covered by an Italian-esque clear cover like Ferrari used to do a lot.

POST 43 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I love my 996.2 headlights!! I am a happy puppy - the "pissed" portion come from living in Australia for 4 years. down there pissed means drunk!

POST 44Original post

mmmh... I guess no one caught on the little humour on my last post...

POST 45 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 8111435

god knows I killed some brain cells yesterday, but I'm still scratching my head on the "left one" comment????

POST 46Original post

Quotes source post: 8111748

There is a Joan Rivers commercial where she mentions she likes shoes a lot, especially on her left foot, so I thought... uh never mind.

POST 47Original post

Hey pissedpuppy, please change your avatar...I hate looking at your beautiful new Porsche. Actually, that color kicks a$$!

POST 48 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 8113454

JDS -got it! thanks Barn - I love the color too, now if they'd just get me the car!!!!

I think it was supposed to go on a truck yesterday, or today (from Chicago to SF) - not sure, 4 or 5 days? you have any idea how long it might take? I mean, it could be as quick as 3 days I suppose

POST 51Original post

can you post pix of your car on here, cant acess the link you posted...

POST 52 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 8114704

yeah, the link is now dead since they sold the car - it's the blue one in my avatar no other pics until it arrives

POST 53Original post

PP, when I had my car shipped the company (DAS) had a website where I could follow (track) the truck as it moved across the country. Didn't get a lot of work done at the office that week! See if your company has that--it might give you an idea when to expect it. PS: In my case I saw the car was coming in 5ish I went to the terminal and waited for the truck. When he got there the driver said after 5pm he needed to leave and unload the truck in the morning. The girl there told him I had been in the office hounding her for an hour and would he please unload it. Of course it was behind 1/2 dozen other cars but he got it out for me that night. I'm sure he missed coaching his kids ballgame or something but I was dying to get that car!!!
