Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I had one of these for carrying a bike on my 964, and now it is mounted on my 996 and used regularly.

Suggestion
To me, a clean wheel really sets off the car, and I haven't found anything easier to clean than a set of turbo twists.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello everyone!
I've been a Porsche owner since 2001 and a Rennlister since 2002.
I have now sold my 964 that I owned for the better part of 10 years and have now bought a black/gray 2003 996 Carrera Convertible.
I just thought I would say hello to you "water-cooled" guys and gals!
I got a sweet deal from a trader and together with an urge for something more modern and spacious and the car being the right spec, a deal was made!
I only got to drive the car for about a week before winter struck here in Stockholm, Sweden, but besides the sound and the meaty feeling when driving I don't miss anything with the old car...
I do have a hardtop so right now I am looking for a reasonably priced set of wintertires (and maybe a roofrack with ski mounts) and then maybe I won't place the car in storage over the winter...
So I hope I will have less need to search for solutions to problems on this part of the board and more reasons to look for upgrades!
Peter:
Congratulations, and welcome aboard. I hope that you continue to enjoy your car as much as I do mine. I just mounted snow tires on it for the winter. I'm planning on driving it 12 months out of the year. Enjoy every day.

^ Early sport seats are not heated and lightweight until the 40th and MKII GT3s came out with that option I think. I have one and have yet to see one with a heated sport seat option earlier than that.
Full leather is standard for ROW but a $3,250 option in the states. Full leather is a must have for a $100,000 sports car.
Great GT3 Wheels .... so what are they?

Ditto on the goofy bumperettes! Much cleaner look! I did the same thing as you Peter, but kept the 964 for now - it stinks like oil inside, smokes like a pot-head when I start it, but it has a place in my heart.

Great looking car. But as much as I love your wheels (and I do really like those wheels) they are going to be a pain to keep clean. I have had a number of cars and different wheels, with multiple spokes, and nooks and crannies, and I have literally spent 15 minutes on a wheel, getting all the brake schmootz out of the dips. To me, a clean wheel really sets off the car, and I haven't found anything easier to clean than a set of turbo twists.
Hi Peter - I also moved from a 964, which I drove daily for five years, to a 996 Cab, two years and 22K miles ago. I missed the sound and solid feel of the 964 at first, as well as the classic bug-eyed styling, but the 996 is a superior machine in every way. The Cab adds another whole dimension to the fun of driving, too.
As a suggestion for transporting skis, check out
this web site.
I had one of these for carrying a bike on my 964, and now it is mounted on my 996 and used regularly. They also have ski-carrying attachments and the seller (a Porsche guy) is very helpful with installation advice. I can mount or removee my rack in seconds, and there is little trace on the car when it is not in use.
Note to other readers: the single stability strap easily hooks at the front edge of the 996 Cab's clamshell - I'm not sure how it would work with with 996 and 997 coupes, but as I said, the seller is very helpful and may have a ready solution.
No affiliation, yada, yada, yada - just a product that has served me well and may solve a problem for others, too.
Very nice example you have, Peter, the interior is excellent. Good luck and many years of happy motoring in her.
Fantastic car you have. If you don't find the winter sports rack I guess you will have the wash and wax method down real good by the time spring arrives
Looks beautiful.
