Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I read that those clamps are made to be used only once.
Leading evidence: 'Use only' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Set on the way' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

On any aftermarket exhaust system I have installed, they always gave torque specs for the clamps, bolts, etc. The service manual does not give any torque specs for the clamps that join the cat and muffler pipes. It just says to tighten. I am thinking about 35-40 lbs, but wanted some input. I want to avoid any leaks.
do you have the workshop manual?
http://www.cannell.co.uk/Manuals.htm
just looking I dont see it... the older manuals have ALL the torque specs, maybe its there and I didnt see it?
tighten... hmmm... IIRC I used my air ratchet and made them "tight" - didnt torque them
I do have the WS manual. The link you have included is where I downloaded mine from. It shows other torque for various exhaust fasteners, but not these clamps..........I was gonna copy and paste, but would'nt let me. Anyway I find that kind of irregular for Porsche.
I tightened *the crap* out of mine, and they still leak a little.. I think I need new ones as Ive taken them off and on a few times..
I thought I would add some scientific data to the torque specs.. :-)
keep in mind "the crap" is 1/2 turn before they break and "the ****" is 1/4 turn before.....
BEFORE!!
"thighening the F_K outta them" is 1/4 turn AFTER they break
If I remember right, the bolts are M12.
The M12 8.8 can be tightened to 80 - 100 Nm before it strech. If you put some lubrication on it, then its less than that.
