Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I just have to say what an absolute great time I had and how hospitable everyone that I met turned out to be.

Well I have been grinning ear to ear since Saturday, even started to run around with my PSE turned off from time to time because Laurel said, and proved by her driving, that "loud doesn't mean fast".
Leading evidence: 'be' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'be' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Run around' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I finally attended my first DE, but as a spectator. I just have to say what an absolute great time I had and how hospitable everyone that I met turned out to be.
And for the best - at the suggestion of a friend who was participating, I brought my helmet along, just in case. And, when I finally got up the nerve to ask an instructor if I could possibly go for a ride along, I was sent off to find "Ross" and fill out some paper work. Well, Ross had some fun with me for sure, great sense of humor on the guy, and he got me all set up.
I returned to the pits with helmet in hand waving my blue wrist band and stated that I was now good to go. The woman, Laurel, (not sure if that is the correct spelling) handed me the best surprise in the world. She said she was about to go out on a run, and if it was "okay" with me I could ride along with her, in her brand spanking new GT3 RS, oh yeah - much more than "okay" with me. Well I have been grinning ear to ear since Saturday, even started to run around with my PSE turned off from time to time because Laurel said, and proved by her driving, that "loud doesn't mean fast". And fast she was, even though she was definitely not letting it all out as the car only had 1200 miles on it.
What a great time, great day, great people.
And now, the considering if I actually participate in DE with my own 996....time will tell, Laurel has given me hope that I still have time to play.
If you think sitting in the right side seat is a great time, wait 'til you are behind the wheel at DE!
Glad to hear you had a good time riding. What's holding you up DRIVING at DE?
John, glad you were able to come watch. In case the thrill has started to wear off, you can watch this video of mine:

We hope you get you out there soon! DEs are some of the most fun you can have with your car.
That would have been Laurel Townsend. She and her husband Rick have been at this for ~25 years. You have a helmet and a Pcar what is stopping you?? Do it. You won't be sorry if you do but always be "what if" if you don't.
Only hold up is my thinking. Anything from it took me 30 years to get in position to own another 911. It is, IMO, a really nice example of the car, great shape, nary a nick or scratch on it. It has become my honest daily driver, all seasons. If I were to screw up and hurt it I would surely miss it. AND... I definitely have a very compulsive side once I "get into" something... $$$$$$$$
All that said, my friend is talking to me about driving at Watkins Glenn mid september. So.... I am already thinking about getting some brake pads and correct fluid and giving it a go as she sits. There has been a lot of good advice on this board about first learning to drive it as it was engineered and built. Worry about seats and belts, safety, tires and performance, down the road, it does have the U.S. M030. So if I follow the advice and don't push the car or myself, all should be well, and sure as heck enjoyable.
Thanks for the encouragement, I sincerely appreciate it. And I am certainly open to any further advice.
No worries about the car. As a daily driver, chances of anything major or even an irritating nuisance occurence happening are higher on the street than on the track. As for you, the driver, well, that's the whole point to DE, isn't it? To learn to drive that car well, and fast, but above all, safely. Don't let how fast and aggressive the instructors drive their cars intimidate you. It'll be a good several years with hours and hours of seat time before you get to where they are. Drive it as slow or as fast as you feel comfortable. You will be taught that smoothness is key. Smoothness will get you around safely, and get you around fast, and is kind to your car.
GO FOR IT!!
