Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have to check my CPO but I believe all my seals are covered, but weatherstripping is not?
Replace (5 min replacement) and fairly inexpensive

That is easy enough to replace (5 min replacement) and fairly inexpensive.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have no idea how I never noticed this. Opened the (front) trunk today and felt something give a little, looked down and this front seal /weather strip is brittle and cracking. Which is odd, because I wurth gummi pfleged all the big puffy seals (and didn't notice this one) and they are all so nice and supple, the rear accordion is fine, it's just the front one.
Now it looks like crap, and I want to replace. Couldn't find anything here or on renntech, just don't know what it's called. It's the strip of rubber alon the front edge of the trunk (in line with the trunk release latch)
Please see attached (crudely graffiitied, blurry blackberry) pic, any ideas guys?
Wayne, it runs along the front edge of the trunk, between the headlights, in front of the plastic trunk liner area and the rear of the front bumper. Tell m if this pic is any better (I don't have a real camera here)
That's interesting.
Also interesting is that I've never had any hint of dampness in the trunk, even when pressure washed, after a torrential downpour, etc.
Now I see. Hmm... mine is still in good shape - it's odd that it has degraded. I'll admit that I do put Armorall on mine when I wash so that it stays in shape.
That is easy enough to replace (5 min replacement) and fairly inexpensive. I had mine off when I changed my front bumper. It's not a biggie.
It was an Arizona car before I got my grubby hands on it, so I guess it's possible it degraded from constant exposure or temperature swing or something (although the rest of the car shows no obvious signs of sunburn, but seeing this I guess I should take a deeper look at bushings and other exposed rubbery stuff)
I have to check my CPO but I believe all my seals are covered, but weatherstripping is not? can't remember, and not sure if this is seal or weatherstripping. Will email my service manager tomorrow, see if she can have one of the technicians look at it without me bringing it in, will update.
I'm going to be traveling until next Thursday, so if the dealer tells me they cover it I'll have someone drop off the car so it's fixed before I return, and if not then I'll order the part and do it when I get back.
Plus it's just my habit with warranty cars that I try to get my money's worth on anything that's covered to help me internally justify the premium I paid for CPO!
Also, initially I didn't know what it was, how it was supposed to be fit/adhered, and how much it cost. Good to know you're thinking 20 bucks, if anyone has a part number or knows if I need any adhesive for a DIY that would be awesome.
I don't think it is a two pieces. I look at the Porsche catalog and saw the pic. They marked with two part numbers. Maybe if you just use one of them is OK.
