Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Well, I looked for a while and found a great set of lightly used sport technos for a very fair price.

If I reject one or all of the wheels (which the seller is allowing me to do) a replacement would be cost prohibitave (unless you know of a random one out there for sale, I checked eBay before posting this, funny, there is an 8 x 10, I need 8 x 11, shucks!).

I think many people don't know you can repair/repaint these wheels.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well, I looked for a while and found a great set of lightly used sport technos for a very fair price. The seller (who has been very good about the entire thing, except for insuring them) had them shipped with nothing more than a little cardboard duct taped to the sides and one wheel took off (literally) without its tag. Several weeks later it was found at a distro point (after I called and described the wheel (not too many 295/30R18s lying around). Now the thing is, they are not insured and I think I can only get $100 as a damage claim (unless you know better?). If I reject one or all of the wheels (which the seller is allowing me to do) a replacement would be cost prohibitave (unless you know of a random one out there for sale, I checked eBay before posting this, funny, there is an 8 x 10, I need 8 x 11, shucks!). The interesting thing is that I was planning on having the inside edges of the wheel painted in the body color (iris blue). How much do you think it would cost to refinish the silver parts? Is it worth it? Should I just scrap it because it was probably banged around and could have more damage, or do you think it is purely cosmetic? Need some opinions. I know I can count on all of you for this! thanks...E
Professionally refinished wheels look brand new. From your picture the damage looks pretty minor and should be easy to fix. Wheel Enhancement does this type of repair.
Also Wheel Enhancement sells individual wheels (used and new) at competitive prices. I had to purchase on 2 separate occasions purchase rear 18 turbo twist due to damage. On both occasions I purchased used wheels from Wheel Enhancement. They were described to me as 7-8 on a scale of 10 but both times they were in much better shape than mine. No affiliation just satisfied customer.
It also depends on how great of a deal you got them and if the seller (not sure how close he is to KY) will assume return shipping costs as well if you send back the whole set. Have you discussed the posibbility of returning just the one wheel for 1/4 of the deal money back? Then you could just order up a new (used) wheel.
By the way, where did you find them for the deal you got? If you used eBay then you have a bit more leverage since the sellers usually don't want to have a mark like this go against them.
I've actually had a chunk taken out of one of my wheels a few years ago, they welded it and repainted it brand new. I think many people don't know you can repair/repaint these wheels.
does the dealer repair them, or should I take them to a body shop? anyone have any recommendations? should I let the body shop who is painting them do it then?
I hate FEDEX, i orderd a Aero Kit II kit befor xmas, The flared rockers showed up last night, how ever the front bumper. and wing are still missing.........Getting to your wheels , they can look brand new after they are refinished
just get them refinished, it will be cheap. i've had some pretty bad rim damage repair flawlessly gor abour 100$ Canadian. that should be pennies to u yankees
A second vote for Wheel Enhancement; haven't had wheels refinished there (but have bought wheels and tires from them for many years). Great guys who really know what they are doing. Call them and see what they say.
Mine were much worse than that, curb rash and car wash damage. The local porsche dealer had a mobile guy called the wheel doctor come in and do it, 150$ each. Perfect result.
