Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

if its a matter of buying a used C2 versus a new M3, i'd go for the M3 every time, not only because i dont buy used cars, but because its a better value

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

911 should beat the M3 on the track with a driver that knows how to drive 911s with it's tricky rear engine setup... but M3 is easier to drive and quicker in acceleration 0-60, and with more aggressive gearing and higher hp (333 vs 310?).
911 is a better track car, M3 is slightly quicker in acceleration due. But the difference is all driver.
I still think the m3 is a sedan, not a sports car, a sporty sedan maybe. I'd never trade my C4S for ANY bmw. JMO, don't bother flaming me, everybodies entitled to one.
Wrong it's a COUPE. But if you mean it's not a real sports car, yes, you are right. 911s are real sports cars (except 911TT which is a GT). M3s are GTs.
996 is a wee bit faster in the straights and definitely a better car at the track. Performance numbers are pretty much the same.
The M3 feels heavier since it is heavier and the driving feel/feedback is much better in the 996 '01. The sound of the engine. can't beat that boxer engine sound at low speeds. Whirrrrr like a jet engine.
modern 'lower' 911s are dilluted to GT cars
it may have a longer lineage than the M3, but it is still soft compared to the GT3/Turbo/etc.
the M3 has an awesome transmission (SMG), auto, sequential manual, flawless transition and lightning shifts. launch contorl is very trick.
only thing the early C2s have over the M3 is steering feel and mabye lighter
the M3 has better backseats, bigger trunk thats actually usable, brakes, etc are very comparable.
comes down to personal preference. if its a matter of buying a used C2 versus a new M3, i'd go for the M3 every time, not only because i dont buy used cars, but because its a better value
not to meniton free maintinnence for 5years on the M3
No. It's some of my dream cars. I don't have any of these. I just own a 944.
But I would to say with this list that for me, M3 and 911 are dream cars. They both have power, steering...
stock for stock, or modded?
stock to stock, the 911 is better suited for track use (better suspension and brakes)
modded, the best bang for the buck goes to the m3...
in the end, it depends on who's driving.. they are very close to one another.. but the m3 is built to forgive drivers when they run out of talent... the 911 takes a much more skilled driver to go fast...
