Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone have any personal experience with them? Weight v. brembo v. stock? They seem to have some superior aspects over the brembos, esp. with the stiffening bridge which actually does make a difference in race cars (made one for the McLaren). They seem to be a better alternative at a more reasonable cost as well, any ideas?

POST 2Original post

I had StopTechs on my M3 track car. AWESOME! That's all I can say. VERY easy to change out pads. Much easier than Porsche / brembos, IMO. Also, their rotors wear like diamond! After 2 track weekends with very aggressive pads, nothing. If they are cheaper...I recommend them. Chad

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cool- Yes they are in fact cheaper. The cool thing is that it appears that pagid makes compounds for their backing plates also. So if I can get a yellow compound for them I would be in business, anyone with any other personal Porsche experiences with them?

POST 4Original post

Their reputation is very good and I would use them if they were cheaper. As far as their performance or weight I don't think there is enough informaion out there to make a fair comparison.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

yeah it would be pretty cool to know what the differences are because as I understand the weight is the issue- i.e. mk1 gt3 brakes v. brembo grand turismo or whatever the regular kit is detracts because of the increased unspring weight v. the lightweight kit which is about the same as stock if not lighter Too bad the gt3rs brakes are sooo expensive and consumable- titanium is nice and light!

POST 6Original post

I have run StopTechs on my WRX, RX8, EVO, M3, and I have a 4 wheel kit coming in for the 996. There engineering and components are top shelf. Just look at the Turner Motorsports champion BMW!!! The rotors, lines, calipers are all awesome as well as their selection of pads. I will be installing the 4 wheel kit and will post pics when it is on. I ordered the yellow calipers!!! Here is some pricing reference http://store1.vividracing.com/catalo...2336_2404_2408

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey Moderator what's up with this guy. Please stop him from basic solicitations it's offensive.

POST 8Original post

These are not solicitations...Let me post some pics of our cars with the Stoptech kits. We are one of StopTechs biggest supportors and use their product on the street track. We can talk all day about braking and how the product works as we use them. That was the posts initial question. Sorry if I offended you directly. As far as Stoptech and their engineering...If you look at their kits, the shootouts that have been done in comparison to Brembo and Rotora (the other 2 big brake manufacturers) you will see StopTech usually comes out ahead. You will always have name bias with Brembo, great product but StopTech for the money is right there. I will have a video of my 996 on the track and for road racers when you REALLY drive your car you will see what happens to brakes when you run stock lines, stock fluid, and stock pads. Should be posted tomorrow. In the meantime read this - http://www.stoptech.com/technical/

POST 9Original post

In fact read this one...good insight http://www.stoptech.com/whitepapers/...erformance.htm

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have already done all that research. You do directly solicit people in your post and it bugs. I don't come one the boards to be annoyed. You have been warned of this this very same issue before. If you want to contribute fine, just keep it at that.

POST 11Original post

Again I apologize... and actually I have never warned about anything... You asked about StopTech. Like I said. I have raced in 5 different cars for over 2 years on StopTechs. Just cause the username is a company does not mean I dont have personal opinions too...

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

BS You were warned by members about your pushing your drop links.

POST 13Original post

I am all smiles here We were advertising them here since we are a sponsor. Enough said here...have a great night. Dont want to start any problems. If you want a great comparison of the brake kits...Call Bob Lee at StopTech and then call Jaime Trimble at Brembo. Both our friends and can give you the low down on a tech side.

POST 14Original post

I honestly don't mind the "offers" on the list. However, the "stupid" pricing of some items just makes me want to laugh...
