2008 Budget

I have recently been contemplating a decision. Do I trade up my current 2001 C4 or spend some $$ adding a full Aero Kit. I have been using $7,000 as bookmark price for the total cost of the aero kit, but recently someone mentioned to me that I might be on the low end. I�m not looking to fully replace the front and rear body panels, just add a spoiler and ground package. If I was to trade up, I would want at minimum, a later model S, C4, C4S maybe even a Cab. I�m budgeting an addition 25k over my current 01� C4. So my question, as seasoned P-Car folks, do you think my budget number in the right ball park??

As another consideration: most likely, you won't recoup the costs of the upgrade when you sell your car. You might get some of it, but most of the cost will be renting eye candy until then. Also, I upgraded to a Ruf Aero kit, and based on my experience, your estimate is a tad on the low side, but close. The painting is always a little more than estimated As for trading up, my guestimate is that your car's trade-in value will be somewhere between $25K-$35. So that puts you in a $50-$60K car. That amount will get you into a first year 997, and maybe even a 997S. You can also work your way into a 996 Turbo. All that being said - IMO, you should just get the Aero. That is, unless you upgrade to a car with it doh! -td
