Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Those are not 997 offsets, those are either Cayman or Boxster 987 offsets. The sizes for 997's that will fit 996's are:
Front 8x19 et 52 or 57 I am not sure, but either will work, and 11x19 et 67....This will work with tire sizes, 235/35/19 in the front and 295/30/19 in the rear.
Newport, Hinkle, I really am beginnng to like the look of black wheels and am considering them primarily because they will not show brake dust as much as white metal. Just curious, was that a factor in youur purchase? thanx.
nope.....I wanted something unique...so i got those wheels which are from a 997, had them custom painted black.....I am almost positive I wont see another 996 cab like mine....
Your rear wheels will be sticking out a good bit with those wheels...listen to Dell on this one.
Here's an offset calculator to check it out:

I think you have the offsets and size for the rear wrong or you are looking at Boxster wheels. They should be 67mm and 19x11.0" with 295 tires, as noted in newport's response. They fit fine with no issues. If the rears are 19x9.5", they are Boxster wheels and should not be used for this application. If the rear offset was 46mm, it would be more like a 996 Turbo/C4S rear fitting; which would stick out. One of our locals runs turbo wheels on a narrow body 996 for DE's and they stick out close to 1/2" out of the wheel wells. They stick out so much, he has to tape the sides of the rear bumper to keep from getting it chipped up.
I agree with Dell* and 02 Carerra, those read wheels will NOT work. The 46MM offset is for a wide body P-car (C4S or Turbo). Use the calculator Woody supplied. The reason I am repeating what others have already said is because very recently there were a couple of threads on these types of offsets for narrow body P-cars. The guys had already purchased the wheels and wanted to know why they stuck out so far from the wheel well and also wanted to know how to fix the problem.
* Damn, I really DO hate it when I have to admit that I agree with Dell!
