After living in Florida for the past five years, I could use a Scandinavian vacation consisting of driving P-cars on frozen lakes with reckless abandon!

Earlier this year (in March) I participated in a very cool meeting - Porsche World Roadshow. It was held in Kali, Sweden.
They finally send a CD with movie and slideshow movie from the event, and what better than to share this with my fellow Rennlisters.
A little about the event.
Its an officiel Porsche Sweden event, where Porsche invites you to drive their cars in various scenarious. They provide the food, cars etc. and you pay a modest fee. Who can say no to that!
So I flew up from Malm� in the south of Sweden to Stockholm, where everyone met _very_ early in the airport.
Due to gate changes the damn flight was delayed!!! Can you imagine a bunch of Porsche drivers who just got their driving time potentially cut by an hour?
We flew up to �stersund from Stockholm - a little hours flight north, and travelled another hour by bus to the World Rally Center in Kali. Damn cool place, where various car vendors go to drive their cars on the frozen lakes!

Yes! Frozen lakes!
This was an all day event driving Carreras, Cayennes, Cayman and Boxsters with spike wheels on frozen lakes!
The day consisted of 5 driving events:
* Off-road - Cayenne
Driving in _very_ tight conditions in a small forrest. Up/down slopes with one guy guiding and the other driving.
* Slalom - Boxsters and Cayman
Well - slalom on ice :-)
* Handling - Carrera 4S and Cayennes
A small race strip cleared on the ice, and then go as fast as you can around the track!!! What a difference from a Cayenne to a Carrera, but cool none the less to drive ~70-80 km/h on ice in tight turns. Lots of spinning out into the snow - a blast and my favorite!
* On-road - a bit of everything
A lineup of all the various cars - from a small Boxster to a Cayenne Turbo driving around on the public roads at *almost* legal speed limits
* Hot laps - one lap in a Cayenne, one in a Cayman
The instructors from the 4 other events took everyone on a wild ride on a specially made track on the ice. It clearly showed us total n00bs how big n00bs we were. I have never ever gone so fast sideways in a Cayenne over the ice. 140-150 km/h I thought I glimpsed on the tacho. Was damn scary and exciting at the same time - the instructor constantly telling us what he did and he had 110% control of that 2.5 ton monster. Crazy.
In between we had lunch in a tent, gourmet dinner at the rally center, beer and snacks in the bar
We then slept at night, got up 5.30 and flew back to Stockholm. Damn that was early, and only a few ppl felt like breakfast.. hehe
So without further chatting, links to first a small movie of the driving and then a movie slideshow with pics of the events and people. About half the slideshow is a bit boring for "outsiders", but lots of pics of the cars and driving in between.
