Then created a master jpg file with layers for each rim color, copied & pasted the individual rim color jpgs into the individual layer, then did window->animation, set the frames and timing, then did a "save for web" and selected the gif option.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Need to have my wheels tuned up due to some curb rash and considering going with black/near black powder coat on my wheels. Any one have some shots of a seal gray car with black wheels to share? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

I'm considering the same. One option is to use electrical tape on 2 of your wheels on the same side to get an idea.

POST 3Original post

Messing around with photoshop. I don't have any with the top down. If the weather is cooperative this weekend, I'll try to get some and repost.

POST 4Original post

Darker wheels look great. Powder is fairly inexpensive too with infinite colors.

POST 5Original post

Somewhere I read a post on a P-car forum a couple of years ago that there is a plastic spray that comes in several colors including mat and gloss black. It's used for tool grips and anywhere you want a durable plastic coating that can easily be removed at a later date. This guy used it to paint various things on his car including wheels and some other stuff. If he changed his mind later he could just peel it off and the original finish was unharmed. Might be something to look into.

POST 6Original post

IMHO, all black wheels look too much like steel wheels. My old titanium grey RX-8 had "time attack" black wheels and red pinstripe. I could hardly see the red time attack pinstripe and I regretted getting that color wheels. Personally, I'm a much bigger fan of black/dark grey wheels with a silver lip like mase or xx911xx here: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...ml#post8347304 I think the contrast really sets them off.

Something funky going on with flickr. You may have to be logged in with an account for it to work. I created an animated gif of the photos. Hope this works. Gotta love the Mary Kay version...

POST 14Original post

Tirerack has a thingy that will let you show your car and all kinds of different wheels... http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_gara...ilterBrand=All Now I think the Orange OZ alleggerita make a nice statement! or maybe the blue... Seriously, black on seal grey is awesome. I'm hoping to do it myself when I can afford it...

How did you do that???

POST 16Original post

That'll be the next big thing. Spinners were cool, alright, but alloys that actually change color? Redonculous.

Its an animated gif created in photoshop. Basically, selected the rims, changed the color, saved each color rim as a separate jpg file. Then created a master jpg file with layers for each rim color, copied & pasted the individual rim color jpgs into the individual layer, then did window->animation, set the frames and timing, then did a "save for web" and selected the gif option. Photoshop created the animated file. Hope this answers the question.
