Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
I couldn't remember if the car was a cab or not and looking at my picture, I thought it was probably a cab but couldn't eliminate the possibility of it being a coupe with the sunroof open (based on the sun shining on the seats)
Leading evidence: 'cab' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'cab' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Use example would be a great bargain' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Today a low mileage conservatively used example would be a great bargain!
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I see where one sold on ebay for just under $60K. Is that the going price for a 40th these days?
I believe that they stickered out for over $90K when new?
If so, I might be interested in one at $60K !
Somebody at my dealership told me all of their 40th cars ended up selling for wholesale at the auction. Wished I would have known about that at the time, I would have jumped on one. I always thought it was a cool package.
17k? Ouch.
That's a nice package too - the interior upgrades bring the car up to spec, and the turbo front looks great. Plus, you get 3 more years of warranty.
But that begs the question, why did you sell your 993 widebody? That car looks spectacular. That's one of those cars you should have held onto until death did you part...
Selling the 993 C4S was the worst automotive mistake I ever made. At the time it seemed like the right decision since my employer was going through a merger and I wasn't sure about my future employment status.
After a 2 year hiatus (where I have been playing with other toys and also investing in real estate) I'm back in the hunt and have been considering a 996 C4S or maybe an anniversary model.
As you can tell from my avatar, I love unique cars...whether it be in color or style/rarity!
That reminds me of my worst automotive error, not buying a brand new 993 back in 1997, I passed and bought a "practical" SUV. I would have kept that car forever.
Sorry for the highjack
No problem on the thread hijack....
I love the 993's and would love to have another someday.
Right now I would rather have something with a warranty and a few more modern conveniences (I guess I'm getting old!)
Bill: As an owner of a 40th Anniversary I know you will not be disappointed if you decide to choose this as your next P-car. This is a very unique vehicle. I bought mine last year brand new at a very nice discount. I thought then it was an incredible value on a brand new P-car. Today a low mileage conservatively used example would be a great bargain!
My company is currently going through a merger and learning from your experience, no way am I getting rid of my ride!!!...
Best of luck in your search!
My local dealer has a very nice example that they took as a trade. It has 7k miles and is listed for $76k.
40th Anniversary Model
There are at least half a dozen on the Porsche web site ranging from $73k-$83k.
$60k sounds like a great deal.
My 993 C4S was actually Turquoise Blue (it was bought by a Rennlist member who drove it home to LA. The car now resides in Korea)!
If I ever quit being so cheap I would order a new 997 and have them paint it that color....I loved it!
Are you sure the car's in Korea? I met the owner of this car in LA a couple of months ago on a fun run. Any chance it's the car you used to own?

am i alone, or does that blue guy remind you guys of a vw bug convertible?
something about th rims maybe, i don't know... no flames please.. just the first thing that came to mind... and that wing.. eeergh, i guess to each their own.. i just think it's way too big for a cab..
I was one of the "idiots" who paid $90k for the car the first month it was out....and I've loved every minute since. Resale is not my concern since I intend to keep this one longer than my other three 911s combined. My only regrets with P cars comes after I've sold them. The 40th is and was a neat package, and the X-51 is only an added bonus. With PSE and X-74, the car sounds and looks terrific.
Nupe, that's Alan's 993 cab, in Riviera Blue - the car which made me think that Bill's 993 was Riviera - they look identical. I bought Alan's rims for my 964 a couple of years ago when he moved to 18's, and that is a very very distinctive color. I don't know of any other car you could pull that off in, but the blue looks great on a 993.
