Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I replace the heads and IMS on odd numbered oil changes and the block on the even ones, can never be too safe.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A personal thank you note to Ahmet, who took time of his schedule to look at my car, answer my questions, and recommend not to "fix" what I thought needed to be "fixed", saving me money. I feel like I owe him something, even when he refused to take anything (even a round of cold beers). What a great guy, it was a pleasure to meet him. Also met Rex and his very nice GT3, who also gave me his welcomed and free opinion. He also invited me to come to the track. To which I feel obliged. Thanks to Rex as well. Pedro - PESuazo

POST 2Original post

also had good dealings with Ahmet but you didnt get off scott free.... that track invite is going to cost you the rest of your $$$ till the day they have to pry the steering wheel out of your hands

POST 3Original post

+1 Ahmet is a frequent contributor who always had positive posts!

POST 4Original post

Bought my fabspeed cans from him a few years ago. Like most lister's...he is a good one.

POST 5Original post

+2! He saw my post (in another forum!) complaining about my AC...contacted me and offered to meet me at a repair shop to help convert my from R12 to R134a...still blowing ice cubes!

POST 6Original post

He's a straight shooter alright. I've been enjoying my GT3 seat I bought from him.

POST 7Original post

Thanks for the comments guys, I try to help out when I can. Rex is also a great guy and GT3s are indeed fantastic, particularly on track... Pedro, I love doing clutches on 996 (as that's a straight forward job that's worth my time and I can save somebody a lot of money), but your car simply didn't show any signs of needing a clutch at this point. Now take that money you didn't have to spend and sign up for a track event or three! Cheers.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ahmet, Thanks again. Things I will be doing: 1.- Get a spare key (budget 400.00?) 2.- Get rid of the pumpkins (75.00) 3.- Sign up for track runs (???) 4.- Driver's side window regulator (I hear clicks when window goes up and down, assume it will go out soon, ??) 5.- Give my Mercedes E420 a tune up (500.00 including new ignition wires, that beast goes thru a set of distributor caps and rotors every 20K miles wires every 100K ) 6.- Go to the Red Room on Thursday night (latin night) and 7.- Get a shed for the hard top and tools !!

Yes, you are now absolutely OBLIGATED to do a track event. ASAP. Before your IMS explodes. - Rex

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

LOL....my IMS will NEVER explode (unless I start thinking that it may...) Thanks again Rex...

POST 12Original post

I replace the heads and IMS on odd numbered oil changes and the block on the even ones, can never be too safe. :P
