Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

While the dealership had it apart, they also replaced the IMS.
Leading evidence: 'Replace ims' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace ims' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

...at least for now.
I usually get bored with a car after a couple of years and my '04 Targa was no exception. Found another car (at a dealership ~1,000 miles away, naturally) that I'd rather have. Shipped the Targa up there so they could verify what I told them about the car. During their inspection, they found a leaking rear main seal. (Imagine that.) So, since I still owned the car and it was covered by the CPO warranty, I made arrangements for their local Pcar dealership to fix it. While the dealership had it apart, they also replaced the IMS.
I'll probably miss that car, but somehow I figure I'll get over it.
If anybody's looking for a Targa with nearly new Michelins and a recent Porsche overhaul to cure RMS and IMS, just PM or email me and I'll steer you to it.
Bye for now, but I'll probably be back, maybe a 997 net time, but who knows?

I'm surprised Ivangene doesn't suggest an air cooled for you and the wonderful cool summers there.
OH LOOK !!!! He had and even with a suggestion to swing the doors to try and cool yourself. What a nice guy giving a safety warning with this operators' procedure to stay cooler than burning charcoal.
Enjoy your new ride. May not be the choice of many here be we have our opinions.
Personally, it's a no for me but I bet they're fun.
Hurry back when you realize you made a mistake.
I didn't read all your posts but just wondering if it's the typical :
"Hi guys, I just bought my first Porsche. I'm soooo excited, I keep pinching myself and slept in the garage last night. I drove it to work today, and after parking it, had to turn around 5 times, just to look at it....... I'll never sell this car!"
Try boats?

Enjoy your vette. I'm sticking with my Porsche. I drive past a chevvie dealer nearly every day. He has lots of those fiberglass cars all over his front yard. Yep, must sell a bunch of them to guys who grew up wanting one. I never did. My Porsche fits me just fine, thank you.
When you get bored, we'll welcome you back, but only after a certain amount of well deserved whipping.
