Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

You know how fast and furious these 'modders' are changing from Pumpkins to clear side markers.

Do they change the gauge clusture at the prep centre too?

Suggestion
The changing of the side markers afterwards to meet a regional standard is a$$ backwards.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Im slowly replacing parts on my car and the non-OEM side markers gotta go. My goal is to have an all orginal restored show quality 996. I have new orange ones on the way and will be ditching the smoke looking ones soon.
The smoke ones are actually factory over in Europe. (assuming it says Hella on the back)
The orange ones are what is fitted at the prep center typically at the port for US export.
Your original post implied that somehow going to "orange" means that you're restoring your car to original condition and that your smoked version is aftermarket.
Well, the smoked versions are OEM Hella, and are fitted at the factory by actual factory technicians.
At the prep center at the destination port, they are removed and fitted with orange ones. So you're not somehow making your car purer.
If you believe aesthetically your car looks better with the orange ones, then do it - it's your personal taste. But don't imply that any one else with clear/smoked versions went 'aftermarket' or haven't kept it 'pure'.
Krazy K I am sure some owner would have swapped their pumpkins for the ones you have. You know how fast and furious these 'modders' are changing from Pumpkins to clear side markers. But you now have orange ones on the way you say. What else are you taking off the car to return it to its original condition?
Apparently they also move the steering wheel and add US emissions equipment? Cmon get real.
For my project, I would consider the condition it left the US dealer to be stock.
Logic would say that any alteration is made on the assembly line. The changing of the side markers afterwards to meet a regional standard is a$$ backwards.
SP, pretty funny but I actually took a few days off. Im usually stuck in the office when I am at work bogged down with paperwork and admin duties.
And, I DONT EAT DONUTS!!
