I had PSS9s on my 993 and even set soft, my better half hated the ride.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm looking at suspension options for my 123k mile C4 cab and decided to revisit the idea of having the stock inserts rebuilt by Bilstein. A $75 a corner, this seems like a reasonable (and economic) way to go. I can get an ROW M030 for about $1200, but I since this is a cab that my better half drives as well, I am not interested in stiffer or sportier ride. I will save that for my next 996 TT! I had PSS9s on my 993 and even set soft, my better half hated the ride. I had Bilstein HDs on my 87 cab and she thought it was too rough. Stock seems to be the way to go for this car. Happy wife, happy life! Just wondered if anyone had used this service and if they were satisfied. Cheers, TomF

POST 2Original post

Yes I used them 3 times on bilstein HDs and Sports. It was a real simple and uneventful process, for me anyways. Seems like a good alternative way to go. Are you sure that service includes stock shocks?

POST 3Original post

It seems like their rebuild service is only for aftermarket and Motorsport Bilstein dampers. http://www.bilsteinus.com/products/s...e/service.html

Good point. I had assumed that the stock inserts were Bilsteins. Are Bilsteins OE on the M034 suspension?

POST 5Original post

One thing to check with them BEFORE you send them out to Bilstein is ask what their current lead time is. If you call them and ask about the service, they tell you to fill out the form online and send them in with the struts. When they get them, they look at them and say, ok you need this this and this. Oh and our lead time right now is 12 weeks, but we can offer you 2 week expedited for $50 per strut.
