Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

At the end of the day I opted for the Hankooks, which replaced Michelin Pilot Sports, and haven't regretted that choice one bit, after about 6 months and 3000 miles on them.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Right, I'd like to get some opinions from 996 experts on this board, however I'm looking for the most cost-effective solution. So please no 'you've got a Porsche so blowing $1500 on tyres shouldn't hurt' comment.
Car is RoW 2003 C4 Cabriolet. Currently it has these on:
225/40/18 - Michelin N1
295/30/18 - Conti SportContact2 N2 - only 9 months old 6,000kms
With this setup, I didn't notice any difference in handling, braking while driving in wet, downpour or dry. However I read somewhere that for AWD Porsche it's not ideal to have setup like this. But I haven't seen anything official about this.
The Porker is my weekend warrior, never taken or will for DE, TD, autox, or any other high speed activities. Since the speed limit at NZ is 100kph at open road, it's very unlikely that I will find myself driving at high speed (150kph+) for a sustained period of time.
Unless when I was fleeing from the cops
We don't have snow down here which means I don't have to think about winter, summer or A/S tyres.
I will need to replace the
front
tyres soon, and currently looking at several options:
1. Get another Conti SportContact2 N2 - most expensive option
2. Get N rated tyres from another brand, meaning different tread pattern, like the current setup
3. Get non-N rated, from Conti or another brand
4. Replace all four with non-N rated, cheaper tyres
BTW, if anyone has a good set of 225/40/18 Conti SportContact2 N2 for sale, I'd be interested in taking them off your hands. I've got a FF company in the US who can ship to NZ.
I like Sport Conti's on my Audi and Bridgestone RE050 Pole Positions on the P-car. The new P-car will most likely get some slicks with a "for visual purposes only" tread pattern cut into them....
I agonized over purchasing new tyres as well, for highway/long road trip driving (no track days). After a lot of research I concluded either the Hankook Ventus V12 K110s or the Sumitomo HTRZ IIIs got the most positive reviews based on "performance per dollar". Neither are N-rated.

Thanks guys, however since only my front that needs replacing, can I do option 2 or 3 as per my original post?
This means having different brands/tread patterns between front and rear.
