***EDIT*** Yes, it was the car you see to the left in my avatar, except that now it is much lower with the GMG Stage 3 Suspension including 2-way Motons.

I'm glad the fuel issue was just a little trash in the screens.

OK, car was turned back over on its wheels, I read the manual and had checked the fuel pump for operation, no pressure.

I forgot what the Porsche tech called the feature, but I checked with GMG, Blairs' British Cars and Boardwalk Porsche to confirm.

We stopped several times to inspect different components, and all seems fine with everything except sheet metal, the grass was very wet and the ground was soft.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I had a incident at the track and the car will not start after a partial a roll over. It seems to be fuel, and there is plenty of fuel in the tank 3/8 tank. Can anyone tell me if there is an initeria sensor/switch that has to be reset. If not, is there somewhere else I need to look? Thanks.
Isn't there a 'crash' sensor that causes the power to the fuel pump to be shut off?
The theory being that you don't want a still powered pump pumping lots of lovely gasoline all over your now trashed engine after impact, given that you're too preoccupied or unable to switch off the ignition.
Anyone?
Yes, he has flipped my car back over. But now, he can't get it started to see what else, if anything is damaged. He really was borrowing my car, so he feels terrible. Guys, please go easy on him, he's not having a very good week.
***EDIT*** Yes, it was the car you see to the left in my avatar, except that now it is much lower with the GMG Stage 3 Suspension including 2-way Motons.
I'm really sorry to hear about this. I've been at the track with a wrecked car and it ain't no fun(Grammer)
I hope you're car and the driver are all OK.
I must say, you are sure taking this like a man!
Kudos!!
I agree, but I guess if you are taking your car on the track, or let someone else take it you need to be prepared for the worst.
Doesn't make it any easier to see.
Jonathan,
Can you confirm if the fuel pump relay is clicking? If not, remove the fuel-pump relay from the central electrical board and bridge terminals 30 and 87 (identified as 3 and 5 on the relay panel) with a fused shop-made test harness. The fuel pump must now operate and deliver fuel.
Have u checked the intake boot to the intake manifold? Mine bursted when i did a 360 times 2 and car would not start til hooked up later(did I mention it's a PITA to push back boot?). Mike
Ouch. I don't have any technical input, but I am very sorry to hear about this.
Jonathan is a stand-up guy and I am sure he feels horrible about this, but at least it seems that everyone is okay (I hope ??).
Best of luck to both of you.

Thanks,
Yep, Pat056 and RIAD are both right. Pat056 is right that It isn't any fun once your car gets wrecked at the track, because you can't finish the session and you know you won't be improving the lap times anymore that weekend. It also sucks to see your baby get hurt.
RIAD is right because nobody, and I do mean nobody should take their car to a track, whether it be a DE, open track day or real racing, unless they are willing to see the car get trashed. It doesn't matter whether it is your driving mistake, a mechanical failure or another driver's error, there exists a real possibility your car will not make it through the session every time out. It is a risk one must be willing to undertake. I was willing to risk it, and I don't regret it one bit. I might feel differently if Jonathan had been injured, in which case I would have wished it had been me in the car and not my friend, but in this case, Jonathan walked away without so much as a bruise from the seatbelt. The car on the other hand is not so lucky.
I'm glad the fuel issue was just a little trash in the screens.
FYI, the 1999 C2 does not have a fuel shutoff switch in the event of an accident. Apparently that feature did not arrive until the 2003 model year. I forgot what the Porsche tech called the feature, but I checked with GMG, Blairs' British Cars and Boardwalk Porsche to confirm.
I think pics will be forthcoming when Jonathan clears his head a little and loses that sick feeling in his stomach. I'm most pissed because I put the camera up just before he crashed. We had a camera with us that took 4 frames per second, so it would have made for an awesome 50 or 60 frames of footage of the wreck. It was a truly spectacular crash, especially when the car went airborne twice and then started to barrel roll into the tire wall. The tire wall arrested the rolls before they could start and the car came to rest on its driver's side.
It would be nice to have the pictures for posterity. I mostly would like to have the pictures to diagnose what went wrong.
Well, you see. Even though there is a bit of regurgitation still in my mouth every time I think about it or walk into the garage and run for the air sickness bag. This would not have happened if Jason had not insisted on running the heater when it was 105 out side and he made me drive with the windows up. So after the heat melted my shoe to the gas and brake pedal at the same time, sweet was running into my eyes that caused me to go blind, then those darn R6's with 2500 miles and 2 track days, and 2 autocrosses just gave up. I really was not my fault.
Seriously, I am grateful that I am not hurt, a little sore now that a couple of days have passed. Also, Jason is a great guy. He was more concerned about my safety than he was his car, and tried his best for the 5+ hour trip from the track to keep me laughing about it. We stopped several times to inspect different components, and all seems fine with everything except sheet metal, the grass was very wet and the ground was soft. It really did not even scratch the wheels.
I guess all the jarring of the car caused the crap in the screens to break free and hit the fuel pump. BTW, race gas will burn your arm if submerged for very long. Took a few minutes to get the fuel pump back in the tank in it holder.
Sorry Jason, but thanks for being a great friend. Those don't come cheap. Really.
Jonathan,
Glad you are safe and you are able to get it started. Things can only get better and a lesson learned I am sure. I chose to purchase a 951 for track events for that very same reason. Although its not my 996, I can rest at night if an incident occurs.
