Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

911 badge in center console trim: Polished aluminum door sills: I bought them on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...160815233&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...132178979&rd=1

POST 2Original post

I have both of those items in my car. In all honesty, I'm indifferent. Those items were already on the car when I bought it. I'm not going to spend money to remove/replace them. If the car didn't have them, I wouldn't have spent money to have them installed. I guess I have more of an affinity for money than 911 badges (polite way of admitting to being a cheap bastard).

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The 911 virus is a 'beautiful' chronic disease...

POST 4Original post

Sorry but too much 'pimping my ride' stuff for me. I mean don't you and eveyone else in the car know that it is a 911 or is it a reminder that is, same goes for the door sills? Don't take it personnaly, I just wouldn't add stuff like that to car that does not need it.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Don't be worry about it. I posted it to hear your comments. The 911 badge in the center console trim don't sattisfy me at all , and may be I'd remove it... The door sills have good quality. We have a very different perception I'am a person who like almost everything in a 911 with OEM parts. I'll never change any body part of my car, rims included. In US is different but in Spain if you like tuning you looks like second class Tuning for me is a bit really tacky, but I have to respect people who like it. You could read me in this post: http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=95752 We can talk about this items without any problem. besides I want to telle you to excuse me because of my low english level Sometimes I don't understand correctly , and I have too much problems to answer I like read your comments because you have a big cars culture , and I'm learning a lot everyday I come here

My post is right below yours on that thread I like to do sublte changes to the car that makes it standout without it standing out the wrong way such as: http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/s...t=95089&page=3 I really do not have anything good to say about those ruby red tips

POST 7Original post

Hola Joaquin, personally, it's a bit too "bling" for me......

POST 8Original post

Well there is the subtle point that they have not made 911's since 1989 I have and like the "Carrera" door sills as they are technically correct and protect the paint.

That would be the purist view, but Porsche still refers to these cars as 911s. Check the manufacturer's web site... what is to us the 997 is marketed as a 911. That said, I wouldn't do that dash emblem if it were my car. It's a bit garish, and if you don't know what you're sitting in by the time you look at that dash, you probably don't care. The door sills seem nice.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I drove my car this morning in a sunny day , and the badge heat me. I sticked it yesterday into my garage, but today I don't like it anything. I wonder why I sticked it... The door sills are fantastic and when you open the door the look is a best view and not as cheap car with original plastic door sills

POST 12Original post

This is what I think: both of the items are good to make a good impression on a non Porsche person. However, among the dedicated community it produces the opposite effect - people know the parts are fake and don't belong to that specific model. I only like the 911 badge on the center console of the anniversary edition. I don't dislike the door sills, but I would prefer the "carrera" script like 95993 suggest.

Thanks Dell. As I'm trying to learn and improving my english, there are lots of american expressions that I don't understand. What's the meaning of tacky? I supposse is something not very good,

POST 15Original post

american slang for a cross between "que feo" and "que barato".

Shouldn't that cunning linguist comment go in the "rear and lifted" thread? Just a thought Oh, I'm with Dell on the badges. -td
