Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

One more tire question, will tire size of 285/30/19 mounted on a 19/10 wheel with a 56 o.s. clear even if car is lowred 1"? Thanks. JW

POST 2Original post

I can tell you what I'm running w/o any rubbing: 285/35/18 on a 65 offset wheel with a 15mm spacer; lowered car with H&R springs (maybe 1-1.5 inch). Your wheel is 0.4 inch taller. Your offset is in between my wheel's offset with and w/o spacer. I believe you should be fine. Pls. note that the wheel could rub on the inner- and or the outer side.

Nevertheless I don't know why to mount 19" 996 series come with 205/50 R17 front and 255/40 R17 rear as standard equipment If we mount 19" rims we are out of the car balance. Why don't mount 21" rims? Porsche engineers designed the car to install max. 18" rims. If they'd wanted to sell a good amount of Tequipment 19" rims, they'd had no problem to do it. TT, GT3, GT3 RS, GT2 all powerful versions of 996 series have maximun 18" rims. I think you're mixing up the set up of the car. It's only an opinion. Don't interpret it as a value judgement Aesthetical component not always goes at the same time as effectiveness. If you want the car to ride in the highway, no problem, but to ride it in sharp bend roads looking for the limits, 18" rims are best compromise-

Yes. I agree with you. But in Carrera/Carrera 4/Targa/Carrera Cabrio/Carrera 4 Cabrio 18" were optional. Nevertheless I think that almost a 98% of 996 were sold equipped with optional 18" rims. 996 Carrera MkII 17" Carrera III rims 205/50 R17 fr 255/40 R17 re
