I used three dabs on each ring and made sure that it was slightly tacky before pushing the rings on.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hi anyone seen the aluminium trim rings on the 40th year 911 model? does anyone know if the aluminium trim rings for the instrument cluster is in a matt or gloss (chrome) finish? anyone know where to get the original factory part? thanks Chucksta

POST 2Original post

Got mine from Eric the bumperplug guy. Fit fine and look factory- easy to install. Unsolicited recommendation...

POST 3Original post

I too got mine from Eric. Have not installed them as yet but the service was prompt and efficient

POST 5Original post

I got mine for $149, made by Dansk and sold at By Design in LA. Looks identical to the one in the 40th Aniv 911

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

who is Eric? does he have a website? how did u install the rings? do they just clip on?

POST 7Original post

http://www.bumperplugs.com they just glue on, over your existinng black trim.

POST 9Original post

Guy's, i've just recieved my trim rings from Eric, but need a little advice. prior to mounting them, did you polish them with very fine wire wool, as it mentions on the rear of the package or did you fit as supplied. Also, what glue/adhesive can you recommend. many Thanks, Steve

POST 10Original post

Mine really didn't need to be touched up with steel wool so I installed them as is. I would recommend clear silicone. I used three dabs on each ring and made sure that it was slightly tacky before pushing the rings on. Then I used electrical tape - the shinny kind not the fabric kind - to hold the rings on. You need very little silicone so don't over due it. Rob-
