Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thinking about moving on up from my BoxsterS to a 996/7. Curious if P-dealers were cutting good deals on 03 996's as they were on 986's. Anyone purchased a 03 996 lately and how well dd you do?

POST 2Original post

i didn't purchase one recently, but a good friend of mine did, and he got his 03 996 for pretty close to invoice. i've heard many similar stories on this forum and some others.

POST 4Original post

Dealers would love to dump 03's, but ask yourself this, is it worth ??seeing how the car is already one year old?.......It may not have been driven but it is NOT new My 2 cents

POST 5Original post

i think my dealer in phoenix has a couple 03's

POST 6Original post

You can get $10-12k off 03 or $3-5k off 04. List prices about same , but do you want $12k off $92k 03 or $4k off $85k 04. Which is better for you? I would choose 04 unless I found perfect fit in a 03.

POST 7Original post

Get an '03 with a few thousand miles on it. Hardly used but big discount.

POST 8Original post

I just went through the same analysis and ended up with a new '04 Targa (on which I got a super deal (10k off) partly because of my long relationship with the dealer). I think you can get 5-6K off an '04, maybe even a little more, if you shop hard. Unless you are going to keep the car for 10 years +, the 03 v 04 difference is going to cost you eventually, so I would go for an 04. BTW, just moved up from a Boxster S and very happy about it.
