Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
If worried about LSD or four wheel drive, check the tech out very carefully.
Leading evidence: 'Check tech out very carefully' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check tech out very carefully' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
I would highly recommend dynamic balancing on a Hunter Load Balancing machine.

Suggestion
I'm not sure it's the machine brand as much as it is the technician's expertise and the use of dynamic balancing.

I pointed out that they use the stick-on weights, and that can go the full width of the rim but on the inside.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It worked great resolving a balance problem on my 540.
Ive always balance my tires, with the tires mounted on the car and the result is suberb, no vibration from the steering at all. Each time I balance the tires out of the car with the balacing machine, the result was not great, there was always some vibration left.
But this was on my Boxster, that didnt had the LSD( Limited slip diferencial). My 996 has LSD, and I was adviced not to make the balacing with the tires on the car on the rear axle because I could damage the LSD. I believe they are right, but I want to be sure of this information, can you experts confirm me this?
Ive balance the 996 tires on normal machine, and like Boxster, the vibration is still there arghhhhhh

Hunter Balancing Machine
Regards,
I go with Fred on this one. I'm now on my 4th set of tires. I've always had them dynamic balanced, except for the third set. That was done at a new shop that opened closer to home. I noticed bad vibration and tramlining immediately, and brought them back. They said they can't do dynamic balancing on these wheels since they can't attach weights to the outside. I pointed out that they use the stick-on weights, and that can go the full width of the rim but on the inside. They insisted, so I took the car back to my old shop. With a smile on their face, they said they had the best balancing machine and presented it to me with great fanfare. They did do dynamic balancing, and no more vibration. Guarrantedd for the liufe of the tire, too.

yes, balancing on a dyno is the best. If worried about LSD or four wheel drive, check the tech out very carefully.
Palting, it's the machine specs and the Tech that are impotatnt here. If all-wheel. the tech has a slight edge, supposing the equipment is state of the art.
