It just seems like an honorable way to temporarily replace Massa until his return.

Just have the test driver finish out the year and prepare for 2010 with Alonso as the #1.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My friends.....................this is going to make watching so much more fun for the rest of the year!!
I can only hope that the car won't break on him!!
Love him or hate him, he has been a phenomenal driver and it will be interesting to see how he adapts to a very different car than he was driving as well as the time away.
One thing for sure, the world audience watching Formula One will increase exponentially just to watch what happens!
Cheers

Former F-1 champ Michael Schumacher to make comeback to replace Massa
ROME - Seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher is making a
comeback for Ferrari to replace injured driver Felipe Massa.

Ariel David, THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Ferrari said Wednesday in a statement that the German had agreed to get back in the cockpit until
Massa is fit to return. The next race is the European Grand Prix on Aug. 21-23 in Valencia, Spain.
"Though it is true that the Formula One chapter has long been closed for me, it is also
true that for team loyalty reasons I cannot ignore that unfortunate situation," the 40-year-old Schumacher
said. "But as the competitor I am, I also very much look forward to facing this challenge."
I'm pulling for him, too, but I'm afraid Willi got it right.
The pressure on him would be huge. He would be expected to win, but he has not driven this car.
When Michael was racing, he would get as close to perfection as possible. In this case, it would not be perfection; it would be a gamble and thats not Michaels style.
I'm shocked Shumi is coming back after being gone so long. This can only tarnish his legacy. The 2009 car is a sled. There will only be lip-service improvements to it. This year belong to Brawn and Red Bull. Besides, F1 is a young man's sport. It's not NASCAR. This season is already a total loss for the Scuderia. Just have the test driver finish out the year and prepare for 2010 with Alonso as the #1.
I think it has nothing to do with a Schumi comeback.
It just seems like an honorable way to temporarily replace Massa until his return.
And this will at least create a little excitement and fun in a truly dismal F1 season.
Bring back the good ol' days of Ferrari vs. McLaren Mercedes!
In my opinion watch what the master will do. Like only Senna before him Schuey can take a 10th place car and win. The Ferrari while not top shelf this year has enough for Michael to have have a shot in Valencia. The team will be fired up and dedicated to perform their best as well. Wait until he gets back to Monza!!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one excited about Shumi's return. Can't wait until the next race to see if he can jump back into things. If anyone can, I think he has the ability as his talent was so far and above the competition of his day. Hopefully, he kept up with his conditioning regimen as it is the physical demands that concern me being away for so long.
Dismal season? I think NOT! This has been a great season to dispel the long standing mclaren versus ferrari every single year fight with everyone else as an also-ran. I think it was been great fun to watch the teams really level te playing field.
I thought the schumi era got really boring with the only question for the season being at which race woudl Michael clinch the season. Truly boring. However - I love that he is gonna take a seat for the remainder of the season. Good for the sport.
Just the electric buzz going around the world of car racing is absolutely amazing. This one man has singlehandedly grabbed the attention back to Formula 1 for the racing and not the politics.
I do believe that he still has some amazing races in him and can hardly wait.
He may need Valencia to get used to the car but the race after Valencia is going to be something to watch!!
Like I've previously said, love him or hate him.....he is nothing less than truly gifted with the ability to drive like a demon in the rain and his ability to pass people where others don't dare.
Running at the sharp end on a 1000cc superbike is no easy feat if you're less than fit. In the pictures I've seen of him on the bike and in the pits at the F1 races it looks like he is still taking care of himself. I can't wait to see him back out there again.
