Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

a set of tires that are 8 years old are not worth owning for free IMO having just replaced an OLD set of S03's

Suggestion
They had some new and some used turbo twists in stock there, so you might give them a try.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I spoke with the folks at wheelenhancement.com this week because I am shopping for snow tires and wheels for my 996. They had some new and some used turbo twists in stock there, so you might give them a try.
I have an extra sets of aftermarket Turbo Twists that I use as track wheels. 8X18 and 10X18. Not "excellent" - but I'll sell the set for $500 + shipping. I'm sure you can refurb them pretty cheap.
Just an alternate route for you.

I too have a set of solid 8's & 10 turbo twist that came on my new 996 w/40k miles. The appear close to perfect and I was going to use them for practice wheels. It makes more sense to sell them and buy a set of the lighter 5 spokes if I can find them. PM if interested....
Two issues: 1) Didn't some 2001 Turbos come with the solid twists instead of hollow? If those are solid, still a good buy, but not a screaming deal. 2) Better check the date code on the tires. If the owner put on aftermarket wheels when new, and these have been in storage for eight years, the tires are trash.
+1 for Jon - I just sold a set of solids for $450 minor scratches - no curb rash, but a set of tires would set you back close to.... what? $800/900 ? plus mount an ballance....
