Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I got a P1126/1124 (all cylinders beyond lean threshold) on my '99 996. I gave the MAF a squirt of cleaner and now I also have Pre-DTCs (150/130 and 102) -- Intercore Short on O2 sensors (both banks) and MAF below limit. Sounds serious, both O2 and MAF? Any ideas?

implies a common failure, and MAF could certainly be it. If engine running odd in some cases unplugging the MAF -- leaving it installed just disconnecting it from engine harness -- can see engine behaviour improve. If it does.. MAF gets another vote. Can you borrow a MAF from an otherwise good running car, circa your car's model year, etc.? 'course, if something happens to borrowed MAF, you gotta cough up the money, no questions asked, then find out why your car eats MAFs. Do you have an OBD2 code reader to view ODB2 data, including air flow rate and O2 sensor voltages and long term fuel trims, coolant temperature? If so looking at that data might spot something. For instance if coolant sensor input bad...Long shot, but if you can see the data it is just more input. In this case it might be worth the risk to just opt for a new MAF. Buying a new MAF when one isn't the answer is not the end of the world. Ask me how I know. Better yet, don't ask... Oil tube filler cap leak was culprit, not MAF. Sincerely, Macster.
