Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

b4 i bought my car say people saying get a service history. when i called a local dealer they said they could only get a history if it was serviceed at their dealer. since it was bought at a used car lot how do i get an actual history?

POST 2Original post

Service work is only in the computer of the particular dealer that did the work. Warranty work is in the joint computer that all dealers have.

POST 3Original post

that's true. but have in mind as well that even if you buy a car from a dealer, and you think that you have a full main dealer history, who tell you that the particular car, does not have a nother history, parralel to main dealer history. friend of mine did buy a car with MDSH,with a years warranty, and when he took his car for a minor transmition oil leak to be cured, under warranty of course , he did find nthat someone else, def. not PORSCHE has done some work on to this car in order to fix the same minor prob. in a more economic way. The mechanic who did that was caught, by the fact that the screws he did use were not Porsche screws. strange? i am not saying that this mechanic did not his work properly. in fact he did, but it wasn't done by the main dealer. so be carefull service history is good, but doesn't always prove everything. concerning now your question: it is not possible to search all main dealers to find out the service history of your car, and def not all garages. dealers keep all data for car being serviced by them.
