Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I just replaced my 4-spoke steering wheel with a 3-spoke one and decided not to go with a smaller radius as it'll block the view to the gauge.

The second bolts the seat directly to the floor...you can adjust it fore and aft but you have to unbolt it to change positions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and I will attempt to test drive a nearby targa asap.

I recently test drove a 997S and found that the proximity of my legs (inner knees) to the wheel was the biggest issue but that was with the normal power seats and not the sport seats, which should give a bit more I believe.

Suggestion
One lowers the seat an inch and moves it back a couple inches, and still allows fore and aft movement on the fly (using the stock sliders).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have followed the recent tall guy threads and have searched a bit on this topic but I haven't found much information on the targa. I am 6'11" and I currently drive an 04 audi s4 with an inch to spare here and there. I have the p-car bug big time. I recently test drove a 997S and found that the proximity of my legs (inner knees) to the wheel was the biggest issue but that was with the normal power seats and not the sport seats, which should give a bit more I believe. Using the tips provided in a thread further down, I believe I can make a 911 work for me (console delete, smaller wheel, etc.). Can anyone comment on the additional head room in a targa?
The specs for the 996C2 vs. C2targa are 38 in and 39.1 in respectively for "front head room." I can't find this figure for the 997. The targa sounds great but is it a real gain or is it offset somewhere else? Any help would be greatly appreciated and I will attempt to test drive a nearby targa asap.
I don't know the specs of the Targa, but you may think of another couple options...sunroof delete (in the non-Targa of course) or different seats.
Deleting the sunroof will give you an extra 1-2 inches of headroom. Many of the taller drivers have gone to the GT3 seats, and added Brey-Krause brackets (I think RUF also makes similar brackets). The BK brackets for the GT3 seats come in 2 styles. One lowers the seat an inch and moves it back a couple inches, and still allows fore and aft movement on the fly (using the stock sliders). The second bolts the seat directly to the floor...you can adjust it fore and aft but you have to unbolt it to change positions. Many aftermarket racing companies online also make different brackets and also sell different seats. They could probably give you advice as well.
Hope this helps...somewhat.
Happy hunting!
I just thought of a third option...the center console delete. It gets rid of that little cubby hole and those useless CD holders...not a big loss! That gives you more room for your legs of course and more room around the steering wheel.
I got it, simply by the Carrera GT and keep the top off, there you have all the headroom you need :-)
I am only 5'11 so there is pently of room for me,
I'm 6'6'' and have a 996 C2 Cab with regular seats. Did DE with helmet with hardtop and (lower) softtop - works fine. Keep in mind that the steering wheel can only be adjusted in-out, not up-down on the 996 (I believe the 997 wheel can be adjusted in both directions). I just replaced my 4-spoke steering wheel with a 3-spoke one and decided not to go with a smaller radius as it'll block the view to the gauge. I thought about the GT3 center console delete as I can't heel-toe right now but doesn't this bring the right knee too close to the shift ****?
