Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Saw it on a new C4S Cab recently. Just wondering what that buys you.

POST 2Original post

Great sound. "Saw it" on a C4S Cab? Did you hear it? If not, take it for a test drive. Adds a significant amount to the pleasure of driving. Whether it's worth it or not I suppose depends on how much you enjoy it. For me, it was aftermarket and DIY costing a grand total of $1600. Definitely worth it.

POST 3Original post

PSE is THE ABSOLUTE best option one can install on a 996. the sound is amazing. drive top down, through a tunnel.... if you are not addicted, then perhaps, you shouldn't be driving a porsche. it's that good.

POST 4Original post

You get a HUGE benefit in engine sound...not to be missed.

POST 5Original post

I wouldn't pay to have the electronics installed. I paid $1,100 ( found a new one on ebay) for mine installed. Definately worth it - huge grin factor

POST 6Original post

Best Option for a Porsche!!! Next to Carbon fiber and interior and Yellow stitching.

POST 7Original post

Makes it sound like a sportscar. Getting into my car the other day, a guy walks up to me and says he has the exact same car. Then, I start it up, and he says 'Hey - what's that? Why does your car sound so good? Mine sounds like such a pu**sy!' I replied, You mean a Vaccum Cleaner... However I did install the electronics. On a Cab it's sometimes a hair too loud to be on the phone with when the top's down... expensive but pretty trick!

POST 9Original post

Sounds great, 'til you get STOMPED by a big, quiet Mercedes! Why not give us an exhaust system that adds power? I'm curious, is the stock exhaust design so good that PSE/aftermarket can only make us "sound" faster? You gave us a chassis - thanks. How about some power, please! I'd pay, say, $500 bucks to just sound better. I didn't order it. -DT

POST 10Original post

Eric, Guess that pretty much sums it up...no performance gains from PSE. But it does sound awesome. I'm with Dirk, I'll pay 2400 for an exhaust that ups my hp/torque a little, otherwise 2400 for sound is not worth it...

POST 11Original post

Can any of you guys make a digital recording so we can hear it?

POST 12Original post

C'mon, the cars are 90 grand, what's another $2,400 That said, $2,400 bucks for an exhaust is obscene. I couldn't buy another P-Car without it now though.

POST 13Original post

Well, I guess that's legit. It's not any more expensive than some of the "fluff" options I have that delight other senses: Full Leather - Touch, Smell Flared Rockers, Crests - Sight Yellow Seat Backs/Console - Ditto Bose - Hearing Haven't found any suitable options for satisfying sense of taste, but I'd imagine that these parts would need frequent replacement. Cheers, -DT

POST 14Original post

Reality check. Took my 4 year old on a quick fun run to the grocery. "Papa, your car sounds like a motorcycle!" From the mouths of babes. Oh, well

POST 15Original post

The previous PSE (for the 3.4L) is a straight pipe, rumor has it may add some horsepower, but PAG will not make any claims for regulation reasons. It certainly feels faster, but that could be completely psychological. PSE sounds: Standard Exhaust 1 PSE 1 Standard Exhaust 2 PSE 2

POST 16Original post

There's nothing like the sound either first thing on start up or when your wring out out to 7K
