Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

As a matter of fact the guys over at Valley Mootors, Hunt Valley MD, will wholesale any used 911s rather than keeping them on their lot during the winter.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am trying to get an idea on value. Used prices in our paper (TN) seem way higher than in disscussed on this site. What is your best guess at the over under number for a 2001, 40,000 mile, coupe, tip, color no red no black, you know the car ... the one your dentist just turned in off a lease? Ebay has not been much help in that most tips are cabs.
Very Welcome.
From what I have seen the spread is about $5K every year (ie, 99 $35K, 00 $40K, 01 $45K, 02 $50K, 03 $55K, 04 $60K) and this is for a basic C2 with typical miles. Then adjust for mileage, warranty, desired options, or trim package that costs more (ie, CAB, C4, C4S)
And don't forget the time of year and location as a factor. many times it is better to buy a car in another part of the country and then have it shipped to you which can save you thousands. The only way I would do that though is through another P-Car dealer, from another Rennlist Member that is well known, or having a connection in another city that can go through the PPI process, etc. for you.
you are spot-on. i purchased my car 2 months ago and that was my experience.
an easy check....go to cars.com and categorize the years. you can then see both extremes.
This is a great time to buy a Porsche in the northeast. I live in MD and the dealers here don't like having many 911s in their inventory during the winter. As a matter of fact the guys over at Valley Mootors, Hunt Valley MD, will wholesale any used 911s rather than keeping them on their lot during the winter.
I agree as well. Just purchased my 99 with 18K miles for $35K. Bought it in Pittsburgh and drove it back to Dallas. The NE has a good number available. Use Cars.com as a guide and knock a few thousand off the ask price.
That makes no sense at all. Maybe what you meant to say was that prices are dropping in certain parts of the country as a seasonal issue where the CAB is not a viable car right now or for months to come. But I know here in Vegas/Soutwest/Cali the CAB's are not dropping. They command a premium.
Here - it's a little hard to tell if the cabs are cheaper or the tips are cheaper, since most cabs are are tips and most coupes are sticks, but the coupe/stick is higher than the cab/tip. This is more prevelant that the older they get. Unfortunatly for me the coupe/tip is rare. Maybe I shoudl look in CA, don't your cars have to be auto's?
i meant to say in NE, while winter is coming. it will be raining for another week, and the temp. will be like 60s.
cab. is not gotta be hot sell in Nov. until March next year. so the dealer will try to get rid of them before Nov.
this is my point of view, may not be right.
Obviously your sample is too small. Search nationwide to find exactly what you want. Remember you will find more CABs in the better climate areas, more 4WD in the inclement weather areas, etc, etc, etc.
Not sure I follow you line of questioning. I assume the reason you haven't got more responses to this thread is these very questions. What does it matter where there are more tip vs. 6spd? Search for what you want, compare several example from around the country, check em out, get the one you feel the best about. REMEMBER.....the lowest price will not always net you the best car. Start cutting corners when buying one of these cars and you are asking for major problems. WHile these cars are virtually bulletproof, they HAVE to be taken care of and maintained properly for that to hold true.
Good luck on your search.
Flood cars and title washing are a GREAT point to bring up. I find that the forum estimates are always very low in terms of going rate because they are based on sweeps of the endless "for sale" forums and eBay. Meanwhile, truly disastrous cars that have been resurrected and will fool someone who is blind to the quality and purely driven by their budget, drag the prices down.
This used to happen all the time with the NSX. How much a given year/model is going for in general vs. how much a truly clean, NO HISTORY, records complete car is going for are vastly different.
PPI should bring up any problems that are there with the car provided that the tech performing the PPI is knowledgeable about pcars. CarFAX is a good tool for weeding out the "round 1 candidates", that is the cars that you look at online and think you have read enough to give them a closer look....CarFAX won't pick up everything.
agree.
CarFax is first line of defense.
i saw a 33K 99 cab. the other day, carfax is clean (2 owners), but PPI told me the car may have front-end accident
PPI is worth the money
