Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know the temp gauge reading is normal but I have a question still. This is what is going on! the temp gauge is still fluctuating between the 8 and 0 split of the 180 and goes to the right edge of the right side line of the 0 of the 180. It does not go any higher up in reading, regardless of driving speed and/or load placed on engine. the temp gauge light does not come, i dont smell any antifreeze nor is there any evidence of leak, pressure test is good, and oil level checked out as well. again just a reminder, new part number cap and expansion tank replaced 4-6 weeks ago. I accept the playing needle gauge, after all the car runs fine. But now the rear spoiler fan keeps turning on, even when the temp gauge reading is at the 8 and 0 split of the 180. it did it once the other day, and then again yesterday. But today, every time i turned on the engine (about 8 times or so). Is something about to go out? Is it normal for the fan to come on so much? Other posts and answers Ive read indicate that the fan should only come on when it is super hot. Could this be the signs that my thermostat is getting stuck, either open or closed? HELP. Car runs good, I just want to diagnose and do preventative maintenance before.....!! thanx, Peter
